The Lycra Booty Short with Rhinestones by Coquette is available in one-size-fits-most, and XL. I ordered the size XL. The booty short is only available in the colour black.

If I remember correctly, the shorts arrived wrapped beneath hot pink tissue paper. I had ordered these a while ago and put them into my underwear drawer without any packaging. I usually only keep packaging if it’s significant for a future review, so I’m pretty sure it was just the hot pink tissue paper. The shorts had a cardboard tag attached to them with a few photos of a model wearing the piece. The tag also stated the product name, company name, company website, colour, and size.

The booty short is 80% nylon and 20% spandex (exclusive of trim). The material is quite stretchy. Below is a photo of both the front, and the back of the shorts.

Waist unstretched: 17 inches
Waist stretched as much as I could: 27 inches
Length of shorts: 6 inches
Liner length: 5 inches
Keyhole cut out length: 2 inches
Bow width: 1 ½ inches
Rhinestone diameter: ½ inch

The shorts have cute little keyhole cut outs in them. There are two cut outs, 8 ½ inches apart from each other. Each cut out is approximately 3 ½ inches in from the sides of the shorts. The cut outs are shaped like tear drops. There is a fairly large rhinestone (see measurements above) that dangles from the teardrop cut out.



Above each cut out, there is a small black ribbon bow. I believe these bows were glue gunned onto the shorts. One of the bows has dry glue gun glue coming out from the top of it, and the other bow has it coming out of the bottom. It’s as if whoever was gluing them accidentally put too much glue on and said “fudge it, it looks fine”. It’s not terribly noticeable, but it is there.

The rhinestones dangle from a thread. I’m not sure how long they will stay on the thread, but to ensure that it is secure, you could always sew a few extra threads through the back of the rhinestone. Personally, it bothers me that they couldn’t take the time to do a few extra threads, but perhaps that’s just me being picky. Just be very gentle with the shorts and you should be fine (though I really suggest adding those extra threads).

There is a lining in the shorts and it is in the shape of a diamond.

The panties obviously didn’t look on me, the way they look on the model in the stock photo. My thighs touch, and I’ve got a bum. On the model, the shorts actually look sort of baggy where her bum is. On my XL body, the bottom of my bum cheeks sort of sit below the bottom of the shorts. Even though my body is nothing like the models, it still looks cute on me.

The shorts are very comfortable and did not irritate my skin at all. The shorts are comfortable enough to be worn as everyday booty shorts, though I like to wear mine just for the bedroom. I’m not sure how long the rhinestones and bows would stay on for if it was constantly rubbing against pants/skirt/etc.

The care tag in the shorts says that the item should be hand washed only, and hung to dry.

Overall, the shorts deserve a 4 out of 5 rating. They’re stretchy, comfortable, and cute. The reason why I had subtracted one star is because I can’t see the rhinestones staying on the shorts for very long since they are only held up by one thread.

I still like the underwear but I didn't add a few more stitches to the rhinestones, which I should have. I waited too long I guess and one of the rhinestones fell off. I ended up just taking the other rhinestone off because it looked silly with only the one. Since the underwear no longer had the rhinestones, I started throwing them in the washing machine in a lingerie bag. I keep my washer on cold water. The rest of the panty has held up well. There hasn't been any damage to them from throwing them in the washer.
