Little Red Dress

For once, Coquette actually makes a piece that runs true to their size guidelines. This is a very comfortable piece, but I think it is overpriced for just being simple cotton.

I almost would recommend this for public wear, but the lace gives it away that it is lingerie.

I bought the XL which should fit someone with a bust of 42-44D. I have a 40D and had no issues with the fit. This was long enough on me that it looked like a dress. I stand 5'2", and this fell just above my knee. This is a little longer than I expected it to be, but it would need to be longer to fit a taller person.

The chemise is red and black. Most of it is red, as seen in the pictures here on EF. The black is just for accent and trim, though the black does break up the red and makes it look more like a finished piece. It is made of cotton. It feels just like a t-shirt. It stretches like a t-shirt does. This is not a see-through piece.

This outfit has very little for support. There is no underwire. If you get any support, it comes from the elastic that is at the bottom of the bust portion. For an individual with larger breasts, this will not give enough support to be comfortable or to show the girls off. This is a piece that was made with smaller breasted individuals in mind.

I was disappointed in the packaging of this. It came in a clear plastic bag over the garment which was on a cheap, plastic hanger. What determines which Coquette pieces get the nice, padded hangers?

The only adjustment that can be made to this piece is in the shoulder straps. There is no back closure that can be adjusted, so this piece either fits, or it does not. Since it stretches, it will fit a wide variety of individuals. I know I'm slightly below the size guidelines, but I typically buy the XL from Coquette because their pieces run small. This one, though, I think runs true to size.
Follow-up commentary
I've washed this now for the first time the other day and it came out looking just like it was when I bought it. I washed this in the washing machine in a lingerie bag on the gentle cycle. However, I dried this on a hanger. The tag suggests hand washing and hang drying. I don't think hand washing is necessary if it is washed on the gentle cycle in a lingerie bag like I did. I'm afraid that this could shrink in the dryer.

I find this to be a very flattering piece that is comfortable. I could just walk around wearing this all day, that's how comfortable I find it.
