Glitter accented chemise - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by LivingandLoving

This chemise was the first piece of true lingerie I bought, and I definitely wanted it to be something solid that could be worn a few times. Sure, I've purchased tank tops with lacy straps or some lace, sparkly panties before, but nothing that was actually meant to be worn on my whole body. As an introduction to the world of lingerie, I would definitely say this piece was WELL worth it!

I especially loved the retro 40's-50's style without a corset or lots of boning. The lace on the cups and at the bottom add a nice feminine look, but it's not too girly and frilly. The padded cups with an underwire had me concerned because I hate padding, but the padding really just supports more than adds inches to your bust.

I like to dress up and go out to a nice restaurant once in awhile, but my everyday style is really much more causal. With that in mind, if it takes more than 5 minutes to get into or out of, I'm not interested. This chemise fit that description well, though it was a bit of a challenge for me to get the hook-and-eye closure in the back hooked. I wore it under my clothes the first time, and it just looked like part of the fancy black dress I was wearing (The straps showed since the dress was strapless, and I wore a cardigan over it all to surprise my fiance).

When I put it on, I loved the smooth, silky feeling of the nylon/spandex fabric. Sure, it's not satin or silk, but who needs hard-to-care-for fabrics when I feel this sexy and confident? It felt lovely on my skin, and the rhinestones give it some shape. Under my satin dress, the chemise tended to move around a bit, but it didn't show on the outside. Mostly it was just the chemise working it's way up my body a little, which I've never experienced with normal underwear obviously. If you're wearing this in the bedroom only, it won't be a problem at all. :)

Another plus is that it's washable! I have no time (or the cash) for "dry clean only" clothes. I washed it in a mesh bag with the rest of my dark clothing and put it in the dryer on low, and it came out as good as new.

I wore this little number under a black strapless dress that I was wearing for Valentine's Day dinner at a nicer restaurant. Since the chemise has straps, I just wore a black cardigan over the dress, and no one was any the wiser. All night at the restaurant, I felt a little extra sexy to be wearing lingerie, especially since I had never bought anything like this before.
After dinner, we came home and pretty much went straight to bed. I asked my fiance to untie the laced-up back of my dress (a task he enthusiastically enjoys), and he was *delighted* to find that I had something else underneath. I could barely get out of my dress before he pushed me onto the bed and was on top of me. So sexy!!! He couldn't get enough of running his hands up and down the silky smooth fabric, and it felt INCREDIBLE. This piece is definitely a confidence-booster in that respect. :) It did take awhile to actually get out of it when we finally got to that point. The bra hook-and-eye closure in the back gave us both some trouble, but then it could just peel off over my head.
When we were finally done playing, the lingerie and clothes were in a messy pile on the floor, which made me extra grateful that this chemise is washable.

I've worn this piece a couple of times now, and I have to say it's worth every penny! It's held up to washing (in a lingerie bag, of course), and I haven't noticed any deterioration or damage. Every time I wear it, my fiance can't keep his hands off me, and that's the way I like it!
