High rise panty - sexy panty discontinued by Coquette - review by annarchism

Coquette's High Rise Panty has a very vintage feel. They make me feel like I'm a pin-up girl!

The panties are made out of 100% polyester (exclusive of trim, which includes the bows and elastic) and, like most lingerie, requires hand washing in cold water; hang to dry. I do wish that the mesh wasn't quite so sheer though. However, the panties are so comfortable that I don't have the chance to feel self-conscious. They are well made and the quality is high. There are no loose threads or weak parts in the seams; they'll be able to withstand all manner of abuse.

They'll arrive to you wrapped in a clear plastic bag and clipped to a black satin hanger, all ready for the closet. The panties themselves are offered only in classic black, but do come in S, M, or L. Sadly, no plus sizes. The sizing chart is pretty accurate though. I ordered the large and am normally a size 14, the far end of the measurements for that side, and had no problems. The panties can also stretch a bit due to the mesh sides.

The panties can be worn with or without the attachable garters. The garters can be hooked on and come stored in a little zip-lock bag. The garter hooks are hidden underneath a pair of the satin bows which, although cute on the model, look a bit odd in person. They're safety pinned and hang a bit outward so that the clip shows. However, they're made to be removable, so it's an easy fix if you're not fond of them. If you do like them, you might want to get rid of the pin and just sew them in so that they lay flatter. Taking the bows off though does give the option of wearing it underneath pants. Otherwise there's a slight bulge from the pin that shows through in jeans. I wouldn't wear any shorter shirts though since the panties do have a high rise cut.

And that "high rise" promise isn't just a come-on. The top ends just above the belly-button, like a 1950s/60s bikini. Combined with some thigh-highs clipped to the attachable garters, you're ready for the spotlight.

The elegant looking front panel though is what really makes this piece memorable. This opaque portion is designed to mimic the curves of hips. It's so velvety soft and decorated with a lightly contrasting a florid design. Meanwhile, the sides are surprisingly mesh. This tricks the eye into extra slimness and adds texture, but it can also be off-putting if not expecting to be able to see any skin. The crotch section is lined with a breathable cotton that makes it a lot more comfortable than the average sexy panties.

These panties are pretty amazing. They're so comfortable and provide a lot of support. I even took them rollerskating (as a surprise treat afterwards), and they were as comfortable three hours later as they were when I put them on.

They also hold up well to regular washing without any fading or tearing.
