Lace top thigh high - hosiery by Leg Avenue - review by Jul!a

One of my favorite and generally easiest ways to make myself feel a wee bit sexier during the day is to wear stockings underneath my regular clothing. Just knowing that they're there and only I know about it lets it be my happy yet dirty little secret.

I had hoped that these sheer thigh highs would let me do that, but I guess not.

When I first received these in the mail I was really excited. I loved the color (hot pink), which was even brighter in person than it appeared online. Unfortunately I had to wait a little while to be able to try them out, but I eagerly anticipated getting to dress up.

I'll get to my whole story down in the experience section just to make it a bit easier to follow. So here are some of the specifics.

Use: For some people, sheer thigh highs are used purely for extra arousal during sex, for others they like to wear them out to feel a bit naughty. Unfortunately if you're the latter, these probably are not the best for you unless you happen to have a garter belt on hand to keep these up.

Packaging:
There was nothing spectacular to the packing of these stockings. They looked just like any pair you would buy at the store: cardboard insert, cardboard covering, and plastic bag.

Sizing:
At first I thought the sizing was perfect. The tops didn't cut into my leg from being too tight.

The sizing on the packaging says that one size fits most with a weight "guide" of 90-160 pounds.

I weigh approximately 105 and my thighs measure about 19 1/2" around where the lace top is supposed to sit and my thighs are apparently not enough to keep these up for very long. So if your thighs are this size or smaller around halfway up, then these are probably not going to work for you unless you have a garter belt to hold them up.

Materials:
These stockings are made out of 100% Nylon and the washing instructions are to hand wash separately and allow to drip dry. Also, make sure not to bleach them.

I just went for throwing them into the wash with all the rest of my laundry for a few reasons:

1: To me they seemed pretty much like regular old nylons, you know the ones with the two legs and the top that goes way up past your bellybutton every time? I throw those through the regular wash, so I figured why not these as well.

2: I wasn't all that thrilled with them after having tried to wear them out and about one night, and through sex another, and since they were only $5, I could take the loss of money if I destroyed them.

But through the regular wash they went, and this was the result:
They seemed to stretch out a bit actually. I just tried them back on and found that I could get them higher up than I could before, so these have started to show some promise at least. I'll spend more time playing with these and let you all know how it goes with the follow up review :)

Finally getting to pull these out of the package they came in was very exciting. Putting them on was very exciting. Pulling them back up an hour later, not so much.
As I had previously mentioned, I love to wear stuff like this under my clothes. It makes me feel sexy and a bit naughty. I've got a few other pairs that I've actually spent a bit of money on and I love them, but these just disappointed me.

A short timeline for you:

Put them on at 6, they started falling down around 7, and by the time I got home around 11:30 I was just beyond frustrated with them. I took off my jeans to make it easier to pull them off and show them to my fiance in their full glory but the jeans tugged them halfway down first. So I pulled them back up and had to fight a bit with them to get them to stay up for a few minutes. When I went to actually take them off they had started to bunch up by my ankles and feet which just frustrated me even more.

I wore them again a few days later for a romp in the sack and I was still a bit disappointed with them. By this point I had discovered a few snags on my fingernails by them catching on the material so now I have I think pulls in them. I know runs in nylons but this was when it kind of forms a little ball and there's a horizontal line for a few inches. That just turned me off to them even more, in addition to having a relatively calm romp where they still kept moving down my leg, even when I wasn't really moving.

But, my fiance did love the way they looked on me, even though they were still bunching around my ankles and falling off my thighs. He also loved the way they felt when I rubbed them against his neck and face.


I'm giving these a rating of 2 stars because I love the color and the feel, but I hate how cheap they seem. I know you get what you pay for but Leg Avenue has always seemed to have a reputation for affordability and quality, but here they fell way short.

And while I believe I have covered just about everything, I am only human, so if you feel I've missed anything or you would like to know anything else please don't hesitate to ask.

These came back out so I could wear them with a lingerie set that happens to be almost the exact same color, and while I was doing my extended wear test I ran into something rather odd: one stocking stayed up and almost felt too tight, where the other one kept falling down all night. Very frustrating.

Got home and they both came down when I took my jeans off. I think by the end of the romp I was only wearing one of them, which oddly enough was the one that kept falling down earlier.

Long story short, just spend the extra couple bucks on the ones that are designed to stay up. You'll be much happier.
