Eager beaver - rabbit vibrator discontinued by Pipedream - review by Calypso05

The eager beaver vibe was my first foray into the world of dual action vibes. Up until that point I had only ever used bullets and nothing with penetration. So being a newbie to this type of toy, this one totally blew my mind. As my tastes grew I did find other vibes that were much better quality but the affordability of this vibe makes it a great first toy.

The eager beaver offers multi-functions and multi-speeds. To be honest, I hardly ever used the rotating options, as I wasn’t crazy over it but the speeds were delicious and got me off quickly. This also wasn’t the loudest of toys, so the noise could be hidden by a blanket and pillow. I took it to college with me and used it while my roommate was fast asleep. But I am an exhibitionist of sorts, so the thoughts of her catching me or maybe listening in while pretending to be asleep were also a huge turn on! Hehe..

I no longer have this vibe, as it gave out after many years of use and I moved on to invest in higher grade toys but at the time this was a perfect and very affordable item for a college student or anyone wishing to try dual action vibes!

At the time, I knew absolutely nada about the materials that toys could be made out of, so it meant nothing to me when I bought it. It is regrettably made of jelly, which does not rank high on the list of safest materials available, so I wish I had known about this earlier. As long as you keep it clean and don’t share it, I don’t think it would be too much of an issue but there are many debates about the chemicals involved in the manufacturing of such material.

The texture is kind of ribbed. Well, I guess that would be the best way to describe it. It has a design similar to what a totem pole would look like, but has a creepy smiling face at the tip. To me it kind of looked like the beaver was humping this pole and the pole was enjoying it. Sounds weird, yeah I know, but it’s true! I also had it in beige, as it was the only option available at the time. I’m sorry but I think a beige toy is one of the ugliest and boring options available and had I more money at the time, I would have looked over it just because of the color!

Overall, I felt that the design, shape, and size were well done for the price range we are talking about. It is a rabbit style vibe and that is what attracted me to it in the first place. I had wanted to try that type of vibe without breaking the bank.

I kept for many years, what I referred to as a goodie bag. Really, it was just an old purse of mine that I kept my sex toys in. If you don’t have an issue with length, then this toy was really easy to hide, as I have a large purse collection and no one would go looking through them. I found this toy rather discreet as long as it’s not sitting out on your desk or anything. As long as you have a pillow and blanket to hide under, the sounds really can’t be heard. It was not very aesthetically pleasing, though. Over the years since I’ve moved on from this, I’ve bought bigger toys that fill me up more and it’s caused me to realize that this toy was rather thin, so if you want to feel full, then you’ll probably want to look elsewhere.

The eager beaver offers users multi-functions, as well as multi-speeds. The shaft rotates at different speeds and while some may enjoy this, I found that I rarely enjoyed it. I usually kept that option off, as it caused the sound level to increase. I loved, loved, loved the multi-speeds though. My favorite one, and it remains so on any toy of mine, was the highest speed available. Because of this, I had to keep fresh batteries on hand, as the higher speeds seemed to drain the battery faster. It really drained them if I had the rotater on, as well.


The control pad was very easy to use. You start out with low and then you can increase the speed. That is really perfect for beginners as some toys can be a bit confusing to use at times. After a while, you find yourself getting used to where the buttons are so you don’t have to stop it in order to change options.


The jelly material that this product is made from allows for great flexibility and I found that while I did not enjoy the rotater that much, I did enjoy bending the shaft to fit my body. All in all, a fairly fun toy!

When I first bought this toy, I really knew nothing about it. I didn’t know that jelly wasn’t the best of materials to choose from. I always wondered why at times it could get sticky and over the years I’ve learned much more about materials. I was using toy cleaning cloths at the time in order to not have to run it out to my dorms community bathroom to wash in the sink. Jelly is porous, so I wouldn’t suggest sharing unless you use a condom, but that really takes away from the feel of this toy. Toy cleaners can get rather expensive, so if you’re going to clean this with soap and water, be careful not to get the control pad wet, as this is not a waterproof toy and only use a mild soap.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this toy while I had it. It did the job just right and was a great starter vibe for me. I would definitely buy it again if I was in the same place as I was then.
