Floats Like One...but Lacks Real Sting...

In short, this is a good, cheap toy to test out, whether you'd be interested in a more serious rabbit-style vibe, or one that is convenient for when you're traveling. Ultimately, as this leaves you wanting something more powerful, it is ideal for a little tease and denial. I would recommend this toy to beginners or those who prefer weaker vibrations.

Use

From her: I typically use the Butterfly Kiss on myself as a warm-up toy, since, except for the first few times I tried it out, I don't find it big enough or powerful enough to make me come. Once the novelty of having and experiencing my first rabbit-style vibrator wore off, I found that it just wasn't worth making it a regular part of my routine unless I was going to follow it with something more satisfying. I do find it enjoyable when my partner uses it on me, as he is able to access my G-spot with it (the shaft isn't long enough for me to do so on my own). Still, I find that even with a partner, the stimulation that it provides is too weak to cause orgasm - the bulb and shaft feel good, but the clitoral stimulation is nil. Additionally, I will occasionally use it on my partner, to stimulate the head of his penis, positioning it either so the antennae of the butterfly are hooked behind the back of the head, or reversing it so the bulb is behind his head. Again, while I find he enjoys this, more often than not, it's not enough to make him come.

From him: When using this toy on her, I've found that I concentrate on utilizing the bulb portion, as the stimulation from the butterfly portion isn't great enough to exchange for letting the bulb remain stationary. When it's used on me, the butterfly is great because it caresses the head of my penis, but it is difficult to use on myself. I've not had much experience with vibrators, so I was pleasantly surprised at the sensation.

Material / Texture

From her: The material of this toy is smooth, a bit more so than rubber toys, but less than toys made of silicone, which makes sense as it's composed of a rubber polymer. It's flexible if you bend it, but without applying pressure, it maintains its rigid shape. It is not rigid enough, however, to maintain its shape or position if you are really pushing it, either with your fingers or with your genitals, i.e., it doesn't really stand up to vigorous G-spot stimulation. Moreover, the polymer does tend to attract dust and hairs.

The insertable portion of the shaft, the butterfly's wings, and the antennae are totally smooth, while the butterfly's belly is ribbed, and the shaft below the butterfly features a raised hearts design, giving it a bumpy feel. Personally, I could not feel the butterfly's ribbed belly, and the portion of the toy which is bumpy cannot be inserted unless you want to stick the entire toy (butterfly included) inside of you, which I wouldn't recommend. However, the heart pattern is cute and fun to run your fingers over, and similarly, the butterfly's ribbed belly makes it more aesthetically pleasing. I feel neutral about the color of the toy - it's not obnoxious, but because it's see-through in the battery portion, it gives the material a yellowed, almost dirty look, which I dislike.

From him: The insertable part of this toy is made out of TPR, which means that it is porous, so always wrap this toy up between partners. Various kinds of lube should be safe for use, but we recommend using a water-based one.

Design / Shape / Size

From her: I was not looking for anything gigantic for my first rabbit-style vibrator, but having a very sensitive vaginal entrance, I was interested in something with a somewhat flared tip. The Butterfly Kiss was ideal in this regard - the teardrop-shaped bulb at the end is perfect for in-and-out action. It could have been a little larger, but ultimately, it felt pretty good. However, I find the shaft is too short and strangely angled for really good G-spot stimulation.

As for the butterfly, I am the type who desires a little more pressure on my clit than this toy can deliver. The moniker "Butterfly Kiss" is well deserved because the clitoral stimulation it provides - for me, personally - is suitable only for a tease.

Functions / Performance / Controls

From her: This toy gobbles batteries. I find the only time that it gives a halfway decent vibration is when it is equipped with a fresh pair, but this fades after a couple of uses. Part of the problem, I think, is the way the vibrations get distributed through the shaft and the butterfly portions. When I hold it in my hand, I can feel and appreciate the vibrations, but inside of me and on my clit, I can barely feel anything. It is noisy, but not overly so; I don't think it would be audible through walls or closed doors, but I'd be cautious about using it in the same room as someone else. I always use it on the top speed, since the first two (to me) are laughably weak.

Care and Maintenance

From her: I have had no issues with this toy retaining odors or stains. To clean, I remove the batteries (just to be safe) and wash with soap and warm water. I store it in the "frequent use" toy box beside my bed, since that box is made of plastic, to reduce the chances of the Butterfly Kiss collecting hairs (since my larger toy chest is made of fabric).

Follow-up commentary
It's still a solid toy, but it hasn't been getting a lot of play lately in favor of some of the more powerful and versatile toys that we have.
