If You Love Rabbit Vibes, then Definitely Try the Butterfly kiss!

The Butterfly Kiss is a great alternative to rabbit vibrators. If you like rabbits, you’ll most likely like the Butterfly. It’s a fairly powerful dual stimulator. I found it better at stimulating the clitoris than the G-spot. It’s waterproof, easy to clean and operate. It’s made of TPR (not jelly!). It is a battery guzzler and there are no patterns of vibrations. However, it's a great value for the price and I had a lot of fun with it. I’ll definitely be going back to it again.

Use

California Exotic’s Butterfly Kiss is a dual stimulator vibrator similar in design to a rabbit vibrator. A rabbit uses ears to stimulate the clitoris while the Butterfly kiss uses wings and the antennae. I was pleasantly surprised with this vibrator. I bought it many months ago and it has been sitting in my to review pile for quite some time. I wasn’t really looking forward to it because I didn’t think I’d like it. However, I found the clitoral stimulation to feel very similar to rabbit vibrators. I’m a big rabbit lover so it definitely pleased me! For this reason, if you know that rabbits work well for you I’d give the Butterfly kiss a try. Plus it’s waterproof! You can have some fun in the shower or tub!

I think this vibrator could work for a lot of people from beginners to advanced users alike. It’s small, and not intimidating. However, if you are someone who likes lot of size to their toys this may not be for you.

Material / Texture

For such an inexpensive vibrator, I was happy that the Butterfly was made with TPR instead of jelly. It definitely doesn’t have that awful jelly smell. This vibrator does have a slight plastic smell but nothing overwhelming. TPR isn’t the safest material, but it is much safer than jelly. It has a safety rating of 7 on Eden Fantasy’s scale. It is hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates free. However, it is slightly porous so if you plan to share make sure to use a condom.

The TPR material on the Butterfly Kiss definitely has a rubber feel to it. It is very flexible. The flexibility of the butterfly makes this toy very versatile. You can bend it any way you please. Here are some photos to demonstrate.

Even the little antennae are easily bendable.

It does tend to attract a lot of hair and lint. I usually wipe it down before use. There is a seam on the head of the toy, but it was not noticeable during use. The Butterfly kiss does have a little bit of drag when applied to the skin, but a little lube solves this issue. The shaft of the Butterfly is smooth with no texture. There is a little texture on the body of the butterfly but it is barely noticeable. If you like plain smooth toys this would work well for you. The battery compartment on the bottom is a white plastic.

Design / Shape / Size

The shaft of the Butterfly is straight and smooth with a little head at the top. The shaft itself is very small so it's perfect for beginners. If you are someone who likes bigger toys, I’d pass on this one. The head at the top is meant to stimulate the G-spot. I personally didn’t have any luck with my G-spot, but you might. Since the shaft is small, you can also insert a finger along with the it to get the toy closer to your G-spot.

The clitoral attachment is a little butterfly. The butterfly has wings, it’s body, and little antennae. It does have some ridges across it to simulate the body of a butterfly, but it is barely noticeable during use.

Underneath the portion, there are hearts all over the handle. It is a very cute toy!

The Butterfly kiss is definitely a small toy and very east to hide. It’s about the size of my hand. It measures 7 inches in length and has an insertable length of 3 1/2". It has a circumference of 3 1/4" and a diameter of 1 1/8". Its small size makes it suitable for most users, regardless of your skill level. It’s not necessarily discreet; if someone saw it they would know it’s a vibrator.

I’d personally prefer a small clitoral vibrator to travel with; but you could easily hide the Butterfly in your clothes for travel.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The motor of the Butterfly Kiss is located right underneath the little butterfly. The vibrations are more powerful in the little butterfly than the shaft. There are three settings: low, medium, and high. On the bottom of the toy, there is a compartment that easily twists opens where you place two AAA batteries. Normally I’m not a fan of vibrators that use AAA batteries because they are normally not too powerful. However, this toy definitely has a good amount of power suitable for most individuals. I have a clit of steel and the high setting worked for me. The first two settings are generally moderate in power. The toy vibrates but you can’t see it. At the highest setting, you can literally see the little antennae moving very fast!

Located on the bottom compartment, there is a button. To operate the Butterfly Kiss simply press the button once to access the low setting, press it again for the medium speed, and one last time to get the highest speed. The only negative thing about the controls is that you have to cycle through each speed to turn it off. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but it can be annoying. However, I do like the simple controls. It definitely makes it easy during play time! One negative thing about the controls is that there are no patterns of vibration. This doesn’t bother me as I don’t like patterns. However, if you prefer patterns the premium Butterfly Kiss offers some.

My only real complaint about the Butterfly kiss is that it is a battery guzzler. I put in two fresh AAA batteries and it only lasted about an hour. However, I did use it at the highest setting most of the time. It’s not the best, but I use rechargeable batteries which do help the cost. After using the toy for about an hour, it did become fairly warm but not too hot.

The Butterfly is waterproof and performs fairly well in water. I have washed my toy many times in warm water and soap and I haven’t noticed any leakage into the battery compartment. I’m personally not a fan of using vibrators in my shower but you sure can if you want!

Being an inexpensive powerful toy, it is not that loud. It is probably as loud as a cell phone vibrating. You could hear it through covers, but not through a closed door.

    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

Since the Butterfly Kiss is waterproof, I wash mine in warm soap and water. It is fairly easy to clean. I thought that fluid was going to get stuck in the ridges of the butterfly, but it didn't. If you prefer, you can use Eden’s wipes.

The Butterfly is made of TPR so you can choose which lube you like but I prefer water based. It’s easy to care for and fairly easy to hide. I just store mine in a plastic bag in my toy box. I suggest you separate your toys into plastic bags so they won’t smell bad or eat at each other.

Packaging

Like most California Exotic’s vibrators, the Butterfly kiss was put in a clear plastic box with writing all over it highlighting the toy’s features. It’s not discreet, but that‘s not a huge deal to me. As long as it works and I like it, I'm happy!

Personal comments

I was definitely impressed with the Butterfly. It’s probably my favorite inexpensive toy I own! I only took away one star because it does eat batteries. I normally tend to like premium silicone toys, but I really like this one! I think I’ll purchase the premium Butterfly kiss next. If this toy breaks, I'll surely get a new one.
Follow-up commentary
I still love the Butterfly Kiss! It's a great inexpensive option for a rabbit styled vibrator. It packs a lot of power for two AAAs.
