Okay this was our first administrator assigned review item and we weren't really sure what we were in for accepting this piece but hey 'try anything once' right?

I'd like to make a totally unrelated statement here: I hate the postal service in my area. Completely refuse to leave anything on my porch, inside the downstairs door, nothin...zip, nada! So, now every time I've gotten a package I've had to haul my butt about 6 miles out of the way of everything to the post office and try very hard to be nonchalant with the very nice old lady who always seems to work there. (Reminds me of my grams, so I always get the 'hand caught in the cookie jar at grams right before dinner' feeling lol) But anyway back to the topic at hand now that I've provided some comic relief to at least some people.

Once I got this unimpressive brown box home I of course ripped into it like a kid at Christmas minus the groggy, desperately-sucking-down-caffeine parents behind me. It came in a really cute box with what looked like bubbles all over it. I slid it out of its plastic abode and the first thought that popped into my head was "Shiny!" and it is. This items picture on the site does it no justice, it is sleek and shiny. Has the look of an antique tempered sword (history nerd) but with the polished shine of modern metals. The gemstone on the end of it just the icing on the cake. At that point I jokingly called it my little electric Excalibur. Yea I know probably not the best description but hey, it works. I sent pictures with my phone to my hubby and his immediate response was the same as mine: "Shiny!"

Sadly it took us a few days to be able to use our very intriguing new toy. Lack of batteries, and lack of alone time (baby had a cold) got in our way. Finally about 3 days after we got the Precious Metal Gems aka Shiny we had the personal time to give it a go. After some heavy duty petting and kissing he reached over and spun the dial, it zoomed to life with a pleasant, if at first, startling buzz. We quickly discovered that like an old car you have to turn it up much higher than you really need to start out then turn it back down. Once we'd fiddled with it for a bit he settled on the intensity he wanted and gave it a little bit of lubricant and went to town. We really enjoyed the humming of the vibe and the kind of reactions it evoked. Such things as squirming and little jolts of pleasure. Inserted it made very little sound until he cranked it all the way up then I swear I could feel the vibrations in my bones.

So in short, yeah this nifty thing made a very good first impression on us.

A few days later we had the opportunity to use it again, this time hubby decided to use it along with our very basic realistic dong from Doc Johnson. The combination endeared Shiny to us all the more. This toy is a great team player, collaborating with a dildo or partner it can and did bring me to orgasm at least 4 times in very short order.

Now for the mundane concerns of the toy. It's waterproof so it's clear for watery fun. The solid non-porous material makes it a breeze to clean. My standby still being good old fashioned hot water and a nice soap that doesn't leave a scent or icky oily film. I'd highly recommend not letting this one outside your own personal use or couple use just because, well, health risks and whatnot. If someone's into anal, I imagine it would work nicely given the size and shape, though I'm not sure about that as I don't know a condom outside finger cots (basically look like condoms for your fingers when you cut them in a professional kitchen) that would fit correctly. If you did decide to use it anally, keep it as a just you toy for safety's sake.

In short, this will most definitely be a favorite for a long time to come. It doesn't suck battery life like a vamp and it doesn't heat up on the end but holds body heat nicely. Not one complaint!

WE LOVE SHINY! Shiny is still our favorite vibrating toy and is pulled out and used frequently. Often in conjunction with other toys. I know this is a pitifully sad follow-up but that's it. Shiny is our favorite vibe for more than just its gem and metallic tone, its strong and just keeps right on going. Its STILL operating on the original batteries we put in it! No bad here!
