As advertisers continue to pull out of the U.S. remake of the British show Skins, actress Sofia Black D’Elia defended the show in an interview with Steppin' Out magazine. The barely legal star who plays a pot-smoking lesbian told Chaunce Hayden, “All I can say is that as an actor on the show I’m proud of everything that we’ve done. We created something that we really care about. We feel the show has so much heart and so much potential and can impact so many teenagers.”
But the MTV show's impact on teenagers is what critics claim they're worried about. The Parents Television Council is saying that not only is the show a bad influence on teenagers, but it probably violates a U.S. child pornography law or two, since child porn is defined as any type of sexually explicit picture (sketch, cartoon, photograph, etc.) of a person under the age of consent.
D'Elia tells uneasy parents to watch the show with their kids, and use it as a tool to broach difficult topics. “Many adults are missing the point when they complain about the show,” she told Hayden.

Like kids actually do more than just humor their parents at that age? Oh yeah, this is definitely going to effect a lot of children positively. *Sarcasm*
The parents that don't broach these subjects with their children usually don't because they are incredibly uncomfortable speaking about the topics out loud let alone with their children. The only thing this show is likely to do is shock and terrify them.
Yeah, I can't stand this show.
