How do you feel about hearing your neighbors having sex?

I would hate it.

I have a pretty stressful life and I'm always out and about - so my home is my sanctuary. It's the place I can go to "get away from it all," to relax and de-stress. I hate it when that safe haven is intruded upon by noise. I don't think it's very much to ask for people NOT talk talk on their cellphones in the hall or slam doors.

Sex noises would be just as obnoxious. Nobody is stopping you from getting your rocks off, but please, do not invade my space (physical or audible). And ear-plugs are not as effective as one might think.

I don't hear my neighbours having sex, but if I did, I'd probably just collapse into a laughing fit.

I worry about my neighbors hearing me

I have only heard dorm sex once, but only in the hallway as I was coming back to my room, (but as an all women's college & considering I was on the 'female-only-bathroom' floor, there wasn't much action & the lesbians were quiet lovers.) I chose the broom answer & the last answer.

The broom one, not because I'm not saying I'm the only one allowed to be loud, (though I'm not, I don't think), but if they woke me in the middle of the night, repeatedly, or were constant nuisances, yes I'd let them know & I would call the police if they didn't get more considerate. But, I have to say, it would have to be BAD for that & I just can't imagine people that loud. Maybe I was lucky the 8 yrs I lived in a rental house - they were very close to each other & you could hear someone coughing 2 houses away, in the winter - but no one was a nuisance to me unless it as 3AM basketball or a dog barking nonstop for more than 30 minutes, .(that we had tons of).

I wonder if it's because I wear earplugs & have a filter running which provides background noise? Maybe I'm just clueless & everyone is going at it & I mistake the sounds? Whatever, it might be hot to listen to at some times, but I veer toward pervy, so...

depending on which neighbors it is, if its the old people next door i dont want that image, but if its like the hot guy down the street then its kinda a turn on but only at the right times, if its like 3 am i just want to sleep lol

I don't mind when it happens unless I am trying to sleep.

I have to admit that there've been quite a few times when I was the one making too much noise, and probably irritating the neighbors! Now, we live upstairs in a stand-alone two-story, so only one neighbor...and she would definitely know who it was if we were screaming away up here! On the other hand, she often has her TV on LATE at night, loud enough that I can almost make out the words. I wouldn't feel too bad if we kept her awake with sex, and I'd much rather hear sex noises than the damn TV at 3am!

I haven't heard my neighbors having sex... I don't really think I'd care.. I would find it amusing.

Our neighbors are all old...pretty sure they're no longer "doing it", at least we have never heard them.

It's kind of awkward and I will just turn on music to drown it out? I don't care if they hear me, they can turn on their own music lmao.

Happy for them! However, I'm also happy that I now live in a single family home and don't have neighbors who I can hear or can hear us.
