#EdenUpdate - Video Review Guidelines, Upload Guidelines and Content Requirement UPDATE

Contributor: Carrie Ann Carrie Ann
Hello all my lovely video reviewers,

Video Review Guidelines have been updated! We have trimmed them down a bit to make for easier readability and have added Video Review Content Requirements as well as Video Review Upload Guidelines. Please be sure to take a moment to review all of this information.

I'm sure many of you have noticed that we've been asking more often for quality issues to be fixed -- and for tags, titles and descriptions to adhere to requirements. We'll be doing this even more in the future so, please, be up to date on what those requirements are. More changes are coming and it'll get confusing fast if you don't keep up with each step.

The main change I'd like to highlight right now is in the Video Review Content Requirements. We are working hard to make sure our videos all have a certain standard; a standard of quality and a standard of information. Please be sure you've hit all the points listed in these requirements and make an extra effort to leave out things like large ingredient lists or repetitive sizing and material information. We want videos to be a visual display of things that are difficult to show in a written review, not a repeat of the same information. Covering the basic stats and ingredients is fine but BE BRIEF.

JR and I will be contacting people to fix things up or redo videos if they are too far removed from the guidelines and requirements -- and those who are constantly needing to be reminded or required to redo will eventually have videos declined all together so, again, please be aware of the changes and make sure you begin to implement them if you need to.

Feel free to email either JR or myself with any questions, as always. Or ask them here! We always, always want to keep the lines of communication open and be sure y'all understand any changes so if you don't get it...ask!

Peace, love, sex toys and coffee,

Carrie Ann

p.s. All of these guidelines can be found at any time in your review dashboard with the rest of the guidelines.

The requirements are for regular videos? Or do they need to be in Adult Videos too?

Video Reviews only. Since we don't consider the Adult Videos to be reviews, those don't need to have the same content as a review. Good question!

On that note, it's always nice if a bit of text info or spoken info is added to the adult vids but, for the most part, it's not required.

I have a question that can probably be answered by a current video reviewer. I haven't done any yet so I'm not exactly sure how this works.

I was reading in the guidelines that you can add a video review to a review that you've already written a text review on. So say I had previously reviewed a corset but would now like to do a video review on it. Does how long ago the review was written affect the eligibility of doing a video review on the product? For example, if the review I wrote was 6 months ago, can I still do a video review on it today? The reason I ask is because I know we can't edit our reviews after a certain period of time.

I don't have a specific item in mind but I was just curious about this for when/if I do decide to give it a try.

Thanks!

No, I'm fairly positive that it doesn't matter how long ago you wrote the review. When you go under your account and select reviews and see your list, on the side of each review (to the right) is a little tap that say "add video". This is where you add the video. It's listed under all my reviews and I started writing here about 6 months ago I recently did a video review on a product I reviewed months ago so I know it's possible

Yes, you can. As long as you can access the review through your account, you can "Add video" to it even after you can no longer edit it.

Oops, ksparkles was a bit faster than me. lol

Thank you both very much! I really appreciate the quick responses! I'm not sure if I want to do a video review yet. I'm a bit nervous lol but want to know these things if I ever do them.

Great answers, guys.

Yes, you can absolutely add video at any time, no limits. Just be sure to ask first!

I thought I saw something around here stating that we don't have to have the Eden intro in our videos anymore? I can't find any information regarding this. I've looked through the guidelines and I don't see anything.

I swear I saw it in a thread somewhere.
