Hitachi Wands: Are they worth the hype?

Hitachi Wands (now called "The Magic Wand Orginal") are often considered the vibrator to which no other vibrator can compare. However, the wand is not waterproof, the wand is not quiet, and the wand is not cheap. Do you think it's worth the hype? less

I think all of the wand style vibrators are significantly loud, likely due to the size of the vibrating component. I have yet to find any scientific/peer reviewed studies indicating actual nerve damage from vibrator use; however, with the possibility there... will definitely keep looking.

It sounds like the Lelo Smart Wand due it's low RPM rumbly power is far quieter than most wands. As in some people have commented it sounds like a regular vibrator that's batteries have run out. less

I would love to conduct that study!! I have had issues with desensitizing from constant vibrator use. I had to stop for a few years to let the nerves rest. It worked but it was a very hard few years. Now i can enjoy them again! I believe I'll be looking into helping create a study of this nature! less

I have the Magic Force, and I like it. It's very powerful and rumbly, and I like that it's recharable instead of being corded (it's also smaller and less bulky than the Hitachi, though it's still not exactly a small toy). However, I wouldn't say it's my absolute favourite toy. I find that the big round head covers too broad an area to actually get me off. My clit like more precise stimulation. However, the broad head does feel very good when it's just rumbling against my crotch (even through clothes) and does a good job of getting me hot and bothered, and then I can put an attachment on it for more pinpoint stimulation once I'm ready to take my pants off and get down to business.

I would like to try out some other styles at some point, too. I think the Magic Force is almost TOO rumbly for me. I like rumbly vibrations, but especially on the highest intensity setting, the Magic Force gets a little too deep and penetrating for me after a little while. I also wish it had more than 3 intensity settings. The jump between the medium and high setting in particular seems REALLY big to me, and I normally prefer being able to ramp up the intensity more gradually. But the super strong rumbles are definitely awesome on sore muscles, so the Magic Force is going to get plenty of use even if I end up finding a wand I like better on my netherbits (that versatility is one of the really beautiful things about wands in general). Still trying to narrow down which one I'd like to try next. There's so many options that look good (there's like 4 I can't decide between, haha). less
