Have you ever just sat down with a group of friends and had no idea what to do or talk about? I have, more times than I can count. Occasionally, I enjoy watching the games my friends come up with while they are drinking. I have to admit, some of the games are down right boring and unoriginal. Really...99 bottles of beer on the wall can be fun but, outdated!

The California Kings Drinking game by Evolved Novelties is a great way to bring fun to the party. It’s not a sexual card game, so if you have reserved friends, this is a game where all of the adults can get involved.

Even if you don’t drink alcohol, you can provide other drinks such as Shirley temple’s, Ice tea, soda, juice, etc. for those who don’t drink. Be sure to have plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to refill the shot glasses! If you don't wish to play a drinking game or if you just want to play a card game (ie: poker, solitaire, etc.), these cards are a good substitution for basic playing cards.

This deck of playing cards has a unique, decorative design and large, bold words to make it easier on the eyes. Everyone knows how difficult it is to read once you begin drinking! Half way through the games, words become blurred and run together.

Directions per package:
1. Have your favorite drink ready.
2. Shuffle the cards and place face down on the table.
3. Choose a starting player to pick any card and follow the directions. Continue clockwise to the next player.
4. Game is over when all cards are gone.

Card Instructions:

Joker: Wild Card- Turn this card into any card in the deck. Use it now or use it later, it’s up to you! But for now, pick somebody to drink!

2: Drink for 2 seconds

3: Drink for 3 seconds

4: Thumb Master- You are now the thumb master! Every time you put your thumb on the table, everyone must copy! Last person to do so, drinks!

5: Five is for Guys- Guys drink!

6: Six is for chicks- Girls drink!

7: Heaven- Reach for the sky! Last person with their hands up, drinks!

8: Drink date- Pick anybody at the table to have a drink with you.

9: Rhyme Time- Pick a word for everyone at the table to rhyme with. Keep rhyming clockwise around the group. First person to get stuck or doesn’t rhyme, drinks!

10: Drink Again- Last person or persons who drank, have a drink again!

J: Take it back- Tilt your head back and finish your drink! Now go get everyone a refill.

Q: Categories- Pick any category, now going clockwise around the group everyone must call out something from that category, first person to get stuck, drinks!

Example: “Dogs”
“Beagle, poodle, etc”

K: Make a rule- Make a rule everyone must follow for the rest of the game. Every time your rule is broken, that person must drink!
Example: No cussing, last names only, tap your head before you drink, etc.

A: Social- Everybody raise your glass and enjoy a drink together! Whoever doesn’t raise their glass, drinks again!

I still like the California Kings drinking game cards. Not exactly, for drinking games though. I like how you can use these cards as everyday playing cards. The drinking games on these cards do get a bit boring after awhile. It might be cheaper to just buy a set of playing cards unless there is a promotion going on for this set.
