Boosty - butt plug by Fun Factory - review by Alan & Michele

Boosty is a hefty silicone butt plug made by Fun Factory that can be worn comfortably for long periods of time, no matter what activity you're engaging in. It can also be safely sanitized enough for G-spot play and can be worn vaginally during sex, though for some women the handle may get in the way of having sex with this toy in. Due to its size, we'd consider this to be an intermediate level butt plug-- too large for the absolute anal beginner, but not so big as to be difficult for experienced players to handle.

Boosty is made entirely of medical grade silicone that's just pliable enough surface-wise to be comfortable, without losing any of its shape or size when it's inside of you. It has a smooth matte finish that does create an eraser-like drag against the skin, so using lube with it is highly suggested, especially considering that this isn't a tiny plug to begin with.

As far as flexibility goes there are three facets to the toy: the bulbed section is thick and doesn't bend much at all, the "neck" flexes fairly easily, and the handle bends with little effort at all. The combined result is a butt plug that fills, satisfies, and moves with your body, yet remains comfortable.

Boosty doesn't have any texturing, so to say, but you can see a low casting seam running around the entire toy. This cannot be felt during use.

If you're familiar with Fun Factory's beginner-level butt plug, the Bootie, just one glance at the two plugs together shows that Boosty gives you a lot more to work with:



Though its first bulb starts you off with a tame 1" wide stretch, the next two widen the spread to 1.5" across, which supposedly is the width of average penis. Thus, we're inclined to say that if you aren't up to full-on anal sex yet, this plug is something you'll have to work up to.

The toy measures a little over 4" long and is designed to be inserted right up to its slender handle, so there's enough length to reach and rest against the prostate or G-spot. The neck is 3/4" wide and approximately 1.25" long, which seems to give anal muscles just the right amount of surface to relax on to and really keep the plug in place.

Whether you find its girth challenging or not, overall Boosty is a smallish sex toy in terms of storage and traveling, so it wouldn't be difficult to tuck it away in a travel bag or discreet hiding spot.

With the flexible neck and a head that is fully rounded, not offering even the slightest bit of taper, inserting Boosty can be a challenge if you aren't well prepared. Lube-slicked one inch wide balls tend to want to slide right off of a tight anal opening rather than penetrate it, but with a little patience all will be well. Holding it by the neck up near the where the bulbed part starts, rather than the handle, helps.

It can be inserted with the curve facing forward or backward, and does a good job at staying in whatever direction you put it. The smooth flexible handle rides comfortably between the butt cheeks and flexes when you move, so there is not "poking" to contend with. There is about a 1.5" wide section of the handle, right in the middle, which isn't quite as flexible, though, and that maintains its safety during use by providing a "stop" to keep the toy from going too far in without being uncomfortable at all.



When you go to remove it, the neck of Boosty flexes to put the toy more in a straight line but doesn't stretch lengthwise at all, which makes it easy to give that little extra tug to get it out.

This is a plug that requires very little care and can easily be cleaned with soap and water or tossed in the top rack of your dishwasher. For deeper sanitizing, you can then boil it for 3-5 minutes or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution, either of which is highly suggested if you plan to use the toy both anally and vaginally. Pleasantly enough, the indentations between each of Boosty's bulbs aren't all that deep, so it's not necessary to use a brush to clean them.

You do have to be careful to avoid silicone lubes with this plug, since they can interact badly with silicone toys, and it's wise not to store Boosty resting against other toys of lesser materials. We also suggest storing it in something that would keep dust and lint off of it, although either can be easily rinsed away.

The packaging consists of a gold-tone cardboard box sheathed in a thin cardboard sleeve, that has a large picture of the toy on the front and a small photo of a man's backside in swim shorts on the back. The sheath has "Anal Toy" printed both front and back under the toy's name and "Anal Plug" on one side, so if you need a more discreet storage or gift box option then you might want to discard the sheath. There is a small pamphlet inside labeled "User Manual" but no written instructions. Instead, there is a group of circular icons for you to puzzle out the meaning of, for 4 different types of toys that Fun Factory offers.

The box is reasonably strong and measures 4" x 6" x 2.5", which is larger than this toy needs. You could fit a couple of sample-sized bottles of lube and some condoms in with it or, if you remove the red nesting tray, a Sliquid-sized bottle of lube, some condoms, and a couple of bullet vibes.

The first time we tried it I didn't think we'd ever get the damned thing in, and once we did it was packed against my prostate like its Siamese twin. This was great during sex, as every move I made pressed in ways that made stamina a hopeless endeavor, but I did have a little trouble in the aftermath. I'm used to the smooth design of the Naughty Boy prostate massager, which is what I almost always use now, and the Bootie plug, which is fairly small. Neither is difficult to get in or out. In fact, Naughty Boy will fall out if you let it, so I didn't realize how much of a difference a row of bulbs could make. I had a moment of panic with Boosty wondering if I'd managed to get a plug stuck in a way that nobody else ever had to explain. Fortunately this wasn't the case, it only took a bit of extra tugging to achieve, but I thought I'd mention it for anyone else who might be going from smoother and smaller toys to this.

Overall I think it's every bit as well made and enjoyable as the Bootie is, but it's a whole different ball game that takes a bit of getting used to.

I'm experienced with anal sex but still have to say that this toy takes some effort for me to get in. What I didn't realize is that while the largest bulb is only 1-1/2" wide, the curve of the toy makes it to where at a certain point you're not only trying to fit that in, but also an additional 1/4" inch or so of the top of the bulb below it. I'm pretty sure I explained that badly, so in translation you have to fit 1-3/4" inches in at one point. That feels bigger than it looks, or at least it did to me. Still, I had an easier time with it than he did and really enjoyed the toy. It definitely gives that "stuffed full" feeling and I love the way Fun Factory's plug handles nestle between the butt cheeks without chafing or getting in the way when you walk or sit.
