Joe rock - butt plug discontinued by Happy Valley - review by THUMPER

I've had anal sex but never tried a plug before. Thanks to Eden Fantasys, I got my chance. I decided to get it in the silver swirl color. It looked awesome in the picture and definitely doesn't disappoint when you examine it in person. The swirls are so cool looking and I imagine each one looks different due to the pouring process. It looks more glossy than a matte finish but isn't shiny. I did not see any seams on my toy at all. The only thing I noticed was that if you feel the base, the four lower edges are not completely rounded. If you look at if from below it rather looks like an oval trying to be a rectangle, if that makes sense. It's hard to describe it and really doesn't make much difference. This does not result in sharp edges, however, so fear not. In fact, you won't even notice the change in angle unless you really scrutinize it. You definitely won't feel it when in use. This toy doesn't come with a storage pouch/case but that's okay because it's pretty small and won't get damaged easily. I keep it in a sock. By the way, socks make perfect storage for small toys don't they? Ah, so that's why the sock monster steals my socks out of the dryer!

Now, on to the texture... The Joe Rock feels very smooth, but has some drag. When it is wet with lube or water, it feels silky. The bulbous portion and base are firm but do have some give. It is quite flexible in the neck portion and can be bent easily. The base can be flexed on the ends with moderate effort but cannot be bent towards the middle of the base. This toy will gather lint like nobody's business so definitely clean your plug before use. Lint isn't readily visible on my toy due to the coloring but you can definitely see it with a closer look... and you can feel any particles that decide to attach themselves to your toy. Joe Rock is gradually tapered and has no edges, everything is nicely rounded. The neck is just the right size. It allows for easy insertion without flopping about yet isn't so firm as to poke yourself, or your partner, because it can flex a bit making repositioning easy. Joe Rock is an ideal size for beginners. Its slim diameter is not intimidating.


Cleaning is incredibly easy with this toy. Warm water and castile soap is my go-to for before and after use. You can sterilize Joe Rock by sticking it in boiling water for around 3 minutes. I did a sniff test after washing this plug to see if it held onto any scent (as I like to call it, ass juice). Honestly, it depends on the day and what is up with your intestines at that lovely time. The first time I used it I didn't smell anything. After a couple uses I did catch a faint whiff. Now whether that's an accumulation of ass juice over time or my body wanted to play a nasty game that day I'm not sure. Don't fret! Our beloved plug is not doomed to stink of ass juice forever. Just sterilize it and poof! No more ass juice! Plus, it's always a good idea to frequently sterilize your toys, especially those that consider your butt their playground.

Okay, time for my dislikes. I'm not crazy about the way the lube can leak out of your butt with this toy. Yes, I know I used too much lube the first time, but there are little bits of lube that can escape with a normal amount of lube too. Perhaps that's the way it is with all plugs, but I wouldn't know yet since this is my first, as I mentioned above. Next, while I did feel sensation, I suppose I would have enjoyed it if this toy had a little bit more girth towards the end. I am going to attribute this to the fact that I have had anal sex before, whereas my partner has not. I plan on getting more plugs in the future of various sizes. I'm going to get a medium size plug next so if you have any suggestions, please post them below. Lastly, I wish the base was less wide, or more flexible, to fit a little better between my cheeks. I've got an ample ass so I'm wondering if this plug is a bit uncomfortable for people with less padding. All in all though, this is a fantastic beginner's plug. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's thinking of diving into the world of butt plugs. Let Joe Rock pop your butt plug cherry. You'll be glad you did.

As with all anal play, make sure to use enough lube prior to inserting Joe Rock. Since this plug is made of silicone, do not use silicone based lube or you'll risk damaging your toy. I like to use Sliquid Sassy Booty Formula. The first time I experienced this plug, my partner inserted it during oral sex.
