Maple Syrup, Bacon and Now Buttplugs…I Love Our Neighbors to the North
The Joe Rock is a very pleasing butt plug made from quality materials. The design is very nice and comfortable and the size is just right for those new to anal play or who don't want something too big up their back side.

Pros
100% silicone goodness
Nice design
Nice design
Cons
No-frills packaging (not a con for us, but for some it might be)
Joe Rock comes to us from Happy Valley, Canada. Actually I don’t know if this really comes from Happy Valley, British Columbia, but it is made in Canada. I had no idea that the land of maple syrup and bacon also produced pretty good butt plugs. Go Canada!
The Joe Rock butt plug is four and a quarter inches long. Of this, there are three and half inches of insertable length. The toy is one and quarter inches in diameter at its widest point. The tip is rather blunt but rounded for ease of insertion. The neck is about three quarters of an inch in diameter. The transition between the widest portion and the neck is rather steep and keeps the toy in place. The bulb portion is 2 and 5/8 long while the neck is 7/8 inches long. The base is makes up the other three quarter inches of the toy’s length. It is 1 and 7/16 inches wide by two and a half inches long and is rectangular in shape with rounded ends. Because it is narrow and long it is very comfortable between the cheeks and can be worn for extended periods of time.
The Joe Rock is made out of 100% pure silicone. It is body safe, hypoallergenic, and phthalate free. It is also non-porous so it is safe to share between partners provided it is sterilized first. This can be done either by soaking it in a 10:1 water to bleach solution. It can also be boiled. For general cleanup soap and hot water should do. The silicone if firm so insertion is easy but the neck is quite flexible. The material depresses a bit when pressed firmly. The body of the Joe Rock also flexes but it requires a bit more effort than when flexing the neck.
A good water-based lube is all you need to slide it into place. We recommend the Better Sex Essentials Gel Lubricant because it is super slick and stays where you put it. Silicone lubes will destroy the surface of the toy. Be careful of soaps with silicone in it as well, as this will also damage your Joe Rock.
The quality of the Joe Rock is quite satisfactory, but it is pretty clear that Happy Valley is not one of the big players in the sex toy marketplace. The packaging is completely ‘no-frills.’ The Joe Rock comes in a plastic bag with a cardboard hanger tag stapled to the top. This in no way impacts the quality of the toy and I would much rather have the fine folks at Happy Valley focused on the quality of the toy rather than the fanciness of their packaging. The base of the toy was also clearly trimmed on its bottom edge by a razor blade knife. Again, this doesn’t impact the function of the plug or the comfort of it while it is inserted. It is just another sign that this was not manufactured by one of the big guns making sex toys.
I got this for Mrs. Peg to use. It is, frankly, a little bit small for me. She found the length and the size to quite pleasing. The surface of the toy is not quite shiny but it isn’t a matte finish like her favorite toys. Mrs. Peg liked this okay and said it was quite comfortable with a good amount of lube on it. She also found it easy to keep in and to move around with it in place.

Follow-up commentary
1 day after original review
I realized after I posted the review that Eden is no longer carrying this. That's kind of a shame. I was hoping Happy Valley and their sort of strip-downed packaging might take-off. It is a pretty good plug for the price. It is too bad more people won't be able to enjoy it.
