Rippling With Confidence

The Large Ripple is a toy everyone should have in their collection. It has multiple uses and the design is truly unique. It doesn't matter if your preference of play is anal, vaginal, solo or partnered, the Large Ripple allows you to create a use for it that is tailored to your preferences of pleasure. I feel like it has the ability to open up sexual expression rather than contain it through design limitations and constraints, and this is what I believe to be it's greatest strength as a toy!

Use

The Tantus Ripple is a dynamic toy that's use is only limited by the imagination of its operator. The shape and design make it perfect to be used as a probe, plug, or anal beads and is suited for both individual and partner play. I found this toy to be both useful anally as well as vaginally with my partner once sanitized properly. The large flared base insures the Large Ripple won't get lost, and the graduated nature of the bulbs on its shaft creates an amazing sensation for both g-spot/p-spot play, supports anal training in moving up to larger sizes slowly, and can send shivers when pulling out slowly during climax. Be it hands free wear, harness play, or manual use, the Large Ripple can certainly satisfy if allowed to get wet by a loving owner.

Material / Texture

In terms of material and texture, the Large Ripple is a slick toy to play with. Its silicone is high grade with a smooth and beautiful finish, rather than a matte finish. The smoothness of its surface allows for gliding when inserted, a slick surface when WATER BASED lubrication is applied, and wonderful depth of color (my model was purple). There is a degree of flex in the toy, but it is somewhat ridgid in nature. Like the Large Ripple's smaller sibling Ripple, and most Tantus products, there is no smell or taste to be concerned about as the Large Ripple is a non-porous toy. Made of food-grade material that is hypo-allergenic, phthalate free and latex free, one can be sure that Tantus has safety in mind when creating these wonderful toys to fulfill our deepest desires.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this probe appears to be a blend of toy designs, cleverly thought of by Tantus. The Large Ripple appears as a probe, can be worn like a butt plug, has bulbs or beads that graduate in size like anal beads, and is firm and stout enough to act as a dildo. This is truly a multipurpose/multifunctional toy and as such tends to get a lot of use from me. At 7" long, 5" in circumference at the largest bulb, a base flaring at 2 1/2", and a bottom neck measuring 1" long the Large Ripple stands proud. There have been other reviews with different measurements, but I measured my model and compared it to the Tantus site that confirmed the measurements mentioned above. Starting at just under 1" through to 1 1/2" thick at it's widest, the bulbs of the Ripple sends shivers up my spine as they literally ripple through my body. This toy is discreet, a good fit for the average user, and due to the graduated nature of the bulbs it can be safe for beginners as one can control the depth of penetration, which bulb to stop at, as well as speed of thrusting.

Performance

The performance of this toy is both dynamic and exciting. I would begin by calling this a probe, then a plug, an then anal beads as it can stay in place and has enough flex to bend with the inner contours of the body. The sturdy base allows for a strong grip for deep manual thrusting in the vagina or rectum, while the beaded nature of the shaft allows for a great degree of stimulation of the tissues of one's anus or the opening of the vagina. The best part of this toy from my experience is stated in it's name, the ripples. Often times beads can be too floppy or soft, and dildos/vibrators too ridged and lacking of texture, and thus steps in the Ripple to fill the void.

Temperature play and added vibrations through a bullet are enjoyable with this model, and its girth and width seem like they could satisfy most who seek some variety in their toy's design. I wouldn't recommend this model to beginners, or those seeking aggressive thrusting as the girth of the final bulb and the length of this toy could hit the cervix in uncomfortable ways or possibly damage the inside of the rectum. With that said, this toy is comfortable and fun, and with a gentle hand the Ripple can be a staple in your collection.

In addition to manual play, I found the Ripple to also be great for partner play. The Ripple fits nicely into a harness and retains enough length to still be quite functional without concern of slipping out. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, the ripples allow for intense g-spot/p-spot stimulation that adds a growing sensation of being stretched with a focused "beaded" drag to it. It almost reminds me of the feeling of running a beaded necklace through my lips, but with added adult spice.
    • Comfortable
    • Lots of variety in function

Care and Maintenance

As with most Tantus toys, the Ripple is made from high grade silicone and will stand the test of time for those who know how to treat them right. Being silicone, you can boil, bleach in 10% solution, throw in the dishwasher, or even use antibacterial soap to clean it. Water based lubricants are key as silicone lubes will bond to your toy, limiting its life and making for a sticky decision to be made. The Ripple, all-in-all, is a easy toy to maintain, likes playing with other toys of similar materials, and is easy to store safely without concern. Remember folks, when playing with silicone toys you're going to want to use water based lubes to avoid damaging your toy as silicone lube bonds to silicone toys. The Ripple prefers to be wet and wild with water based!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Presentation for the Large Ripple was clean, functional, and served the purpose of getting the toy to me without damage. With that said, it would be nice for Tantus to adopt containers similar to those used by other companies
as they would help store the Ripple easily and discreetly. To be honest, it doesn't bother me as much as the Ripple is a regular silicone toy and not as expensive or delicate as say 02 duel density material. If the Ripple were some how 02, which would be cool, I'd have more of a concern for the clam shell packaging.
Follow-up commentary
After owning the Ripple for a while, I must still confess that I love this toy. It is firm, harness-compatible, easy-to-clean, and can be used as a string of beads or a dildo, or even a plug! What won me over initially was its versatility and how it seemed to offer the benefits of anal beads without the head ache of being overly floppy or poorly designed. To this day the sleek design and the material quality make it a weekly toy that I share with my partner in one form or another!
