To Get Your Butt in Gear!

Every guy that I have met has had the fantasy of anal sex. I, on the other hand, dreaded the thought, so I decided that in an effort to get me to a point where I don't dread it, I should probably start with a beginner kit. I consider it to be mediocre, but hey, what do I know? I'm only a beginner...

Use

There are 3 anal plugs included in this kit: small, medium, and large. You will want to use them in that order if you are a true beginner at anal. I think these toys can be used basically anywhere, however, I don't feel like I would want to walk around with one of them in. I actually use them in the shower. The material is safe to use in the shower, and in case it's uncomfortable, I just take it out, rinse it off, and set it aside. I would also say that these can be inserted into the ass while having vaginal sex, and it might create a different feeling for both parties. I haven't personally tried that though.

There is a vibrator that comes with the toy as well. It is really big though (which I will go into a bit more later), and I personally don't see myself being able to insert it anally for a while. I doubt I'll even try to. The vibrator does work well for vaginal stimulation though, but because it's so long, it takes a bit of maneuvering. It is pretty loud and has moderately strong vibrations. I would get really comfortable with the big plug before trying to insert the vibrator.

A 1-ounce tube of anal lube is included, but I have yet to take it out of the wrapping. I know Doc Johnson is a legitimate brand, but this item looks more like a novelty item than something that could be used on an orifice, so I would prefer not to try it. I'm assuming that since it came with the toys, it would be safe to use with the toys and not break down their material. However, it doesn't say anything about being sterile or anything like that, so I'm a bit leery about using it.

The precautions I would take with these toys are pretty standard. If you plan on sharing them, ALWAYS use a condom. They all have a bit of flare so they are all safe to use anally. If you use the vibrator for vaginal insertion, use caution when thrusting so you don't bruise your cervix. It is a softer material, but it is pretty big.

Material / Texture

All of these toys are made of rubber, which gives them a safety rating of 3 out of 10. This is a big downfall. This set is porous, so bacteria can get trapped in it, and it's pretty resistant to cleaning. I try using a toy cleaner, but with any exposure to air at all, the toy gets dirty. I would recommend using a condom to make it last longer and keep it cleaner. The set has an incredibly strong odor to it. The individual pieces are all soft and have a bit of bend to them, but the smaller the toy, the more the bend. The textures aren't too exciting, so I think that anyone can use them, but more advanced users would probably be relatively bored with them. It's not meant to feel realistic I don't think, but it's kind of supposed to prepare you for more realistic things.

Design / Shape / Size

The plugs are all the same design, just they gradually get bigger.

Small: the smallest insertable portion is about the same size as my pinky finger and flares to reach about 2 and 1/2 inches in circumference. The insertable length is about 3 and 3/4 inches tall. This is really small. I don't think that anyone would fret over using this one.

Medium: The smallest insertable portion is about 1 and 1/2 inches in circumference and gradually flares to reach about 3 inches in circumference. The insertable length is about 4 inches tall. I'm a beginner still, but this one still felt relatively comfortable.

Large: This whopper's smallest insertable portion is 2 and 1/2 inches and flares all the way to 4 and 3/4 inches. The insertable length is about 5 inches tall. This one, after training with the other two, still gets uncomfortable if I keep it in for more than a couple of minutes. This leads me to...

THE GARGANTUAN VIBRATOR: This monster starts out with a small insertable portion of 3 inches; there is a bump in the middle of it that stops at 5 inches which is the widest part at the middle. It can either be inserted about 5 inches with a 2 and 1/2 inch handle or you can insert the entire 7 and 1/2 inches. Like I said, I have yet to try this one anally because it's incredibly intimidating. It does work really well as a vaginal toy though.

Performance

Performance-wise, they serve their purpose. If you're going to try anal sex, it is really best to gradually work up to the size that you want to be able to insert, because if you go straight into it, it is incredibly painful, and it really can turn you off to wanting to try it again. It can be a pleasurable experience, so this kit does a really good job preparing a person for that. I think its simplicity is the best part, especially for a beginner. I don't really like the fact that it has a poor safety rating.

The vibrator, however, is in a different league of its own. It is a very basic vibrator. It takes 2 AA batteries, and I've had this kit for several months and have yet to change them. The twist bottom also acts as the control, and it's just straightforward vibrations. If you're expecting something really elaborate for a vibrator, this is not the route to go, but considering it did come with the kit, it works pretty well.

Care and Maintenance

When I clean this toy, I try to use warm, soapy water or toy cleaner, but that doesn't mean that it is 100% clean. Because of the porous surface, they can trap bacteria really easily. Even when exposed to just air, it doesn't feel clean. I store it in its original packaging in my closet. It can only be used with water and silicone-based lubricants. Any others will break down the material.

Packaging

This toy was packaged in a clear, plastic container with a picture of a woman posed in a way to expose her vagina and asshole. I really don't think the graphic pictures are necessary, and I believe the last thing I want to see when trying to "train" for anal sex is another woman's ass. If a company really tries, they can make sex toys actually look classy, but the picture on the front is tasteless and unappealing to me. There were no instructions for it, but I don't think instructions are necessarily needed. The packaging is not discreet at all, and you would not be able to use it for a gift box, but it can definitely be used for storage for the toy.
