Bondage in Style

Fun and sexy, these ropes are great for doing basic restraint without stratching or making marks on your skin. With two 6 feet long ropes, it’s a great length for beginners, or for anyone wanting to do small binding work without worrying about too much extra rope getting in the way.

extremely useful review
The Beginner Silk Rope Kit from Sportsheets is soft in texture, but very strong in design, which makes it absolutely fun to play with. In this kit, there are two ropes, both 6 feet in length. It isn’t much, but it is enough length to bind wrists and ankles, and tie them to something else if there’s enough length left. There is not enough length to do anything like suspension or body harnesses, but is still a great length for beginners, or for people who just like to do some basic restraint.

The rope comes in a simple cardboard box, telling you the rope is made of 100% polyester, made in China, and it has company info. The ropes were rolled up in a fancy bundle that I will probably not be able to emulate. I didn’t receive any booklet describing what knots to use with this rope, but lots of information can be found online.

The rope seems to be very well made. The rope has a complex braided design that looks and feels very nice. Even though it is made of polyester, it has a silky texture, which feels great on the skin. It could give you rope burn, but not very easily. It won’t scratch or leave marks on your skin. The ends on mine stay in place very well, but if they start to unravel, you can melt it or put clear nail polish on them.

When it comes to doing knots, the rope can be a bit slippery, but it is still difficult to slip out of most knots. The slipperiness is really nice for when you want to undue the knots because the rope doesn’t require as much tugging like some other materials do. In case of emergency, it is good to have a set of pruning shears nearby. I don’t think many household scissors will be able to cut through this unless they are exceptionally sharp.

To clean the rope, just wipe it down with a damp cloth and soap, but you can submerge it in water also. I don’t think it will hold up very well in the washer, so just to be safe, stick to hand washing.

You can store these anywhere that is convenient. I fold the ropes twice over and tie a little knot in the middle, and keep them in a zip loc bag so they don’t get tangled with the rest of my stuff.
Experience
I love how soft and durable these ropes are. They hold knots very well, but they can be undone with little difficulty. The rope is great for doing basic things, so it is good for anyone of all experience levels, but I definitely recommend this if you are new to rope bondage.
Follow-up commentary
This rope is extremely comfortable to wear, so I definitely recommend it. The ends are not coming apart, but if they do, a little flame can fix that. It's great for those with sensative skin because it won't dig in or scratch the skin. The rope is completely smooth, but will still hold knots quite well. A very good purchase in my opinion.

Great review Schwaltze! That's a shame it doesn't come with a little booklet or even piece of paper with a couple knot ideas.. I haven't used any rope yet, but when I do, I'll consider this one. It's good to know that it doesn't come with any knot information, that way I can look ahead of time to find some good information online that way when I do order and receive it, I can use them right away Thanks very much!
