Falling in Love (Again!)

The Purple Fur-Lined Ankle Restraints are extremely good restraints for the cost. They are soft but hold firm, and they are made with quality in mind. They fasten up nicely, and they look sexy as well. The only downside is that you'll want to measure your ankles in advance as these cuffs tend to fit only small-sized ankles.

extremely useful review
The Purple Fur-Lined Ankle restraints are a set of faux fur and leather restraints made by Spartacus. These are the ankle restraints that go to the Purple Fur-Lined Wrist Restraints set. The two are very, very similar aside from the fact that the Ankle Restraints are made to be larger because they are meant to fit onto ankles instead of wrists. These are about thirteen inches long (versus 9 inches long for the wrist restraints), and they feature a D-ring to function as a bondage point for the ankle restraints.

The packaging for these ankle restraints is pretty basic. It's basic blister-pack, plastic packaging, and it shows the cuffs clearly through the clear plastic. As the packaging is slightly bigger than the cuffs themselves, I wouldn't keep the packaging unless you have a particular reason to keep it. The cuffs seem to store fine on their own. The packaging does show a woman on the front, though, but it looks tasteful, and the packaging would work well for gift-giving.

We've had the Purple Wrist Restraints for a very, very long time, and we've absolutely loved them for the longest time. As one of the first pair of cuffs we bought about two years ago, the cuffs themselves have held up amazingly. Since the cuffs have worked out fantastically for us, I thought the ankle restraints would have the same luck. Luckily, my guess was an accurate guess, and these fur-lined ankle restraints have worked out just as wonderfully, so far, as our wrist restraints have.

The Purple Fur-Lined Ankle Restraints seem to be built with quality in mind. The stitching along the edges of the cuffs is very even and well-done, and the single layer of leather is softened and nice to the touch. The rivets hold on the D-ring and other features really well, and the cuffs fold onto themselves really easily and comfortably. There's nothing on the cuffs that are uncomfortable or make the cuffs awkward to wear. The cuffs are also virtually sound-less (no jingling like some restraints can give), and the restraints are pretty light-weight too.

These Fur-Lined Ankle Restraints are very comfortable as well. The inner, purple, faux fur lining is very, very soft against the skin, and it's almost like wearing a blanket around your ankles. The purple faux fur lining does tend to make the cuffs a bit warmer than other cuffs like this, so be aware that it might make the skin sweat underneath the cuffs. If the skin gets too sweaty, it might be possible for your captive to wiggle out of the cuffs, but it would take some time and effort.

For holding up, the Fur-Lined Ankle Restraints seem like they'll do pretty well. I'm not sure they'll last forever like some of my full-leather restraints, but I'm pretty sure they're going to last awhile with good care and attention. The D-ring is very, very sturdy, and it doesn't look like it's going to pull off of the cuff unless you use it as a weight-holding point (like attempting suspension. Don't do that.) For pulling and wiggling in the cuffs, though, no matter what we tried, the D-rings are firmly attached enough that they don't break.

One of the main things I love about the Fur-lined Ankle Restraints is how softened they already are. When you sometimes have leather cuffs, the multiple layers of leather can make the leather pretty difficult to fold into the circular shape to put onto your partner. When it comes to these cuffs, though, the leather is only a singular layer of leather, and the faux fur offers no "resistance", so the cuffs bend together amazingly well, and you don't have to "fight" with your cuffs at all. It makes the entire restraining process so much easier.

The only big downside about the Purple Fur-Lined Ankle Restraints seems to be the sizing. Just like the wrist restraints that match this, the Ankle Restraints run on the small side. With each cuff being about thirteen inches long, this should fit those with average and smaller-than-average ankles, but if you have plus-sized ankles or just have a larger frame, these cuffs may not fit your ankles. In that case, you could always use them as wrist restraints, but for their intended purpose of ankle restraints, they may not fit like you were hoping.
Experience
Cleaning these is relatively simple, but do remember that leather really doesn't like soap all that much. I recommend using a slightly damp washcloth and just lightly wiping dry the surface of the leather and the faux fur. Let the faux fur dry on its own, and make sure to let it fully dry before putting back into storage, but that's what has worked well with our wrist restraints. I also wouldn't recommend sharing these between non-fluid bonded partners just because of the materials of the cuffs. For storage, the leather is softened enough that they can easily be laid flat in storage.

Overall, the Purple Fur Lined Ankle Restraints are a great value for the money. They are really sexy-looking, hold up well to moderate and rough play, are easy to put on, and are very affordable. Make sure to measure your ankles in advance to make sure that these will fit you, but if they will, they are totally worth it.
