Love the abuse these restraints give me!

Awesome cuffs - they come out of my toy chest more than any other restraints, and have lasted me well 1.5 years later. Exactly what I was hoping for!

Use

Most of the time I use various pieces you can acquire for a dollar or two from a hardware store - a D-link has so many possible uses. My partner can link them behind my back, in front of me, under my legs...or link them to a rope I have connected to my bed frame. It doesn't come with any connectors, which can be slightly disappointing, but the same day I got these we picked up probably $5 worth of clips from Ace Hardware that has served me well, nearly a year and a half later.

I never was very excited about the thought of handcuffs in bed, but the idea of being restrained excited me so much I just had to find a cuff that would be comfortable but strong. Now, I use them almost constantly. I In all, this can be a great set of cuffs for someone either beginner to bondage, intermediate or some advanced play. I wouldn't use them for suspension probably, but other than that great cuffs.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

One thing mentioned in other reviews is that the holes are sized rather small - this is true for the wrist cuffs, however, Spartacus makes an Ankle Cuff alternative to these Wrist Cuffs. Where the wrists are small, the ankle restraints are rather huge - for my wrists, I have to put the hole on the absolute smallest one, with a little stretching - making a nice tight strap, securing me in. If your wrists tend to be on that smaller side, go ahead and get the wrist version of these - if not, the Ankle version is where its at. I tend to get my ankle restraints out of the toy chest more often because of the tighter fit (on that smallest setting).

So far the cuffs have lasted pretty well - with minimal care. They're leather, so don't get them wet, but there are leather products and conditioners available if you want to extend the life. None of the seams have come unsewn, and the metal is still untarnished and perfectly working now, a year and a half after I first bought them. I remember small pieces of fur coming off on my hands the first couple times I wore them, but that doesn't seem to have affected the wear and tear in any way. Some of the holes have started to stretch from use, but that happens on any leather belt I've owned as well.

Performance

I was looking for comfortable but sturdy restraints - and wow, Spartacus delivered. They met every expectation I had. In the area of comfort they definitely exceeded any expectations - the metal parts never touch my skin, the softness of the leather makes it flexible and doesn't cut into the skin like hard leather restraints do. They do an incredibly good job of restraining without getting in the way. The D-links have no gaps in them, so you don't need to worry about the metal parts slipping off, and I've never had a rivet pop. Compared to the metal pieces I bought at the same time to clip them together or to other things, the metal has worn exceptionally well with no scratches or tarnishing (the clip I normally use is awfully scratched, now that I look at it!)

I admit I don't put a lot of weight or pulling and tugging on them, but they are incredibly comfortable yet durable. It has a little bit of give, because the leather is soft, but for me this really enhances the comfort and the amount of time I can wear them without something going to sleep. As above, minimal stretching occurred on the fitting holes, but if I didn't point them out to my partner she probably wouldn't notice. There's been normal wear and tear on the rest of the cuffs, from scratches (from particularly enthusiastic bondage sessions) but nothing adding up.

One neat thing I've noticed is when I'm blindfolded, these make FANTASTIC sounds. The metal parts tend to jingle a little bit, creating a light teasing noise. I know what these sound like being removed from my toy chest, and the sensation play the metal bits can create on exposed skin is creatively amusing and fun. The light jingle can't be heard outside of (any) door if you'd be worried about being heard. For that, I give it one "bee".
Follow-up commentary
Still holding me back, and still no signs of tarnish or any seams coming unsewn or ripping. Great pair of cuffs - I reach for these almost every time.
