Intima silk blindfold by LELO - review by Breas

I’ll be the first to admit that I probably have too many blindfolds. I love having variety and there are too many attractive looking blindfolds available. I use blindfolds for both sleeping in and during play. With the Intima Silk Blindfold being a luxury mask, I decided that it would only be used for play with my partner. You could really use it for either (or both) though.

The mask by Lelo arrived in a small, rectangular cardboard package. The front of the box states the company name and has a photo of the blindfold. The back of the packaging has another picture, states the product name, a brief description, the material composition, care instructions, and company contact information. The outer packaging is not discreet and can be recycled.



The inner packaging is what really matters! When you open the outer cardboard package, you’ll be met with a black storage box with the company name on the top. The storage box reminds me of something you’d receive a necklace or piece of jewellery in from the jewellery store. The box is 6 ¼ inches wide, 1 3/8 inches tall, and 3 ½ inches long. It’s perfect for storing the mask in when you’re not using it. It’s also very discreet.

Inside of the storage box, the blindfold is folded neatly and wrapped in a fancy paper. While I was opening the package for the first time, I felt like I was opening a really expensive present. This blindfold is packaged so beautifully and would be perfect for gift giving.



The blindfold is just as beautiful as the packaging. It is 100% silk and available in black, purple, or red. I have the red coloured blindfold but all of the colours are gorgeous. The material is not stretchy but there is elastic band at the centre back of the blindfold for a bit width adjustment.



I’ve taken a few measurements of the blindfold laying flat. If you need additional measurements, please let me know and I will get them for you.

The blindfold is a solid red colour on the outside of the mask and the inside of the blindfold is patterned. I found this sort of odd because I actually like the patterned side more. You could always turn the mask inside out and have the pattern sitting on the outside of the mask but then the ties at the centre back are facing inwards.



The ties at the centre back of the blindfold are 1 5/8 inches wide and have slanted ends to them. The ties seem to be just for show. The elastic banded area at the back of the blindfold allows the blindfold to be stretched to fit your head. You don’t actually need to tie the lengthy ties to secure the blindfold but it does look cute tied into a bow.

While the mask has the elastic band at the centre back, it won’t fit everybody. My partner was able to wear the mask but he told me he prefers our other masks because this one was a bit tight on him. The elastic isn’t like other blindfolds that I have where it goes all the way around to the eye area, is thin, and super stretchy.

I’d suggest taking a measuring tape and measuring the circumference of your head before purchasing this mask. Just take a look at the width measurements I’ve provided above and if the circumference of your head (where you’d wear the mask) is closer to the width of the mask + the max. width of the stretched elastic, it may be too tight or uncomfortable on you.

Luckily for me, it fit me nice and snug. With most blindfolds I have, I can see a bit of light near the centre bottom of the blindfold (near my nose). With Intima, I can’t see a thing. This may be because I do need to stretch the elastic a bit for it to fit me. This makes the mask perfect for sensory play because the wearer (me) cannot peak out the bottom of the mask.

The silk feels really nice against the skin. I think the mask would be comfortable to sleep in but as mentioned, I’m only going to use this one for play. The packaging states that the blindfold should be dry cleaned only but you could hand wash the blindfold with a gentle detergent and let it air dry.

Overall, I think the blindfold is beautiful and comfortable. I’m a bit disappointed that my partner can’t wear it comfortably but I’m happy that I am able to. I’ve deducted one star from the rating because of the sizing issue. I can’t stress enough that you’ll need to measure your head before you purchase this. Especially since the blindfold is pricey. I think the blindfold is worth the money, but only if it fits you.

The Intima Silk Blindfold is nice but I really haven't used it since the review. I love blindfolds... I probably have too many actually. I keep most of my blindfolds on my night-stand but the Intima has sat in the other room for quite some time now. I like my blindfolds to be super stretchy so that they can fit both my partner and myself. As mentioned in the original review, the Intima is way too tight for my partner's head. It's a nice blindfold but I have nicer (that were much nicer in price too).
