One of the most well known, cheap yet devious household pervertibles is the common household clothespin. These little wonders can be used anywhere on the body but are well known for being used in nipple play. Like with most things I have discovered after a while I want to ramp up the sensations. So what does one use after clothespins on the nipples aren’t quite enough of a buzz?

Butterfly Clamps or better known as Clover clamps.

Apparently clover clamps weren’t always kinky by nature. Back in the days of old they were known by another name, Butterfly Clamps. Personally just looking at them they look like evil fucking butterflys. Not the delicate butterfly most would think of when hearing the name. I’ve come across two theories in my travels, one: they were used by the Japanese silk workers for some kind of sewing implement and two: they were used to hold sails as in boating by the Japanese. Either way, someone decided they had a much higher purpose in life in a deviant manner. On the human body.

Whoever that was that discovered this fantastical way of torture should get a medal. Uber kinkeh and sadistically evil or highly masochistic they are.

Clover clamps are not for the faint hearted. They are not an entry/introductory level clamp to use for an intro to torturous nipple play. By golly no. They are designed to grip tight. When you pull on these or add weight, they dig in and grip tighter.

They have a smaller point that meets the nipple and those points are rubberized. Clover clamps are not adjustable and provide for the maximum amount of intensity.

Also, these guys are heavier than other types of clamps, which may increase or decrease one’s pleasure depending on how much tension you find pleasurable. The rubberized pads have four wee little nubs with help grip the poor freekin skin that they are holding on to so they do not slip in the slightest. The clamp itself is relatively flat and the spring tension holds the clamp in place.

The most common places to use these on are the nipples and the labia and well if you are really freekin brave try them on the clit…… o_O …. Much of the pleasure of nipple clamps comes from the fact that the clamp cuts of a certain amount of circulation to the tip, this causes very sensitive nerves, it also means that you should probably not leave the clamp on for much more than 15 minutes at a time.

I’ve seen varying opinions on the amount of time one can leave them on but between 15 – 25 mins seems to be the average. Whenever you are cutting off blood supply, there is some risk of damage. How much blood is being cut off – all of the blood supply, or just some of it? If the nipple is bluish, not as much blood is circulating in and out, and if it’s whitish, probably very little blood is circulating through. So be aware of time frames when using them.

Seriously though if you are using these for the first time I’ll bet you will want them off just as quickly as they went on. Plus you should probably be aware that the removal of the nipple clamp is usually the most ‘intense’ part of the whole thing, in fact it can be downright painful, if not more, as the blood goes rushing back.

What can one do when these babies are on? Plenty. Have the subbie hold them in their teeth. Attach the chain to something immobile so they can’t move in a hurry. Add some extra weight to them for the seriously masochistic pain pup’s, attach them to a collar, a cock ring, brush the nipples with a feather (the lack of blood makes them highly senstive), for an added rush plonk a vibrator or a Hitachi on the nipples. If you are seriously freekin mean, make them pull them off themselves.

Cleaning them is simple, toy cleaner is the best bet, you can use warm soapy water or a 10% bleach solution but make sure they are well and truly dry before storing.
