Not Perfect, but Affordable and Durable

If you're on a budget and don't mind that you or your partner can undo the cuffs while wearing them (unless a spreader bar is added), go for it. It's pretty affordable and surprisingly durable.

Use

This restraint system is compatible with any bed (no headboard needed) and easy to use. Its low price, simplicity and comfort make it a viable choice for beginners, though some users may find it lacking in certain aesthetic and functional aspects. Over all, it's a good value for the money and is surprisingly durable.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

There's nothing fancy about this product's design. It's simply made with nylon straps, sliding plastic adjusters, metal key rings & spring snaps, and neoprene cuffs with velcro fastenings. All nylon and plastic parts are black while all metal parts are silver in color. It's a very utilitarian design, and there is nothing pretty about it. It's also very lightweight. It weighs less than a pound in all. When I first removed it from the box, I was surprised by its lightness and super simple design. I wondered if it would hold up to really restraining me. I'm pleased to report that I've owned it for about a year now, and everything is still intact. Nothing has broken, and I haven't noticed any signs of wear, not even any fraying of the nylon. I wouldn't expect this to hold up to suspension, but for its intended use, I think it will last you a long time.

The neoprene cuffs are very comfortable, and they've never chaffed me even with extended use.

I don't recall their being a noticeable smell to this product. As I said, I've had it for a year. If there ever was one, it was slight and has worn off.

One other thing I like about this product is that it's easy to hide quickly (like if someone drops by your house and you want to make sure they don't see your under the bed restraint system). I simply let the wrist cuffs drop behind the top of the mattress between the bed and the wall, and I tuck the ankle cuffs between the mattress and the box spring. I often leave them like this, so I can simply pull them out whenever I want to use the restraint system.

A blindfold mask does come in the box but is extremely cheaply made, and it literally fell apart (the thin spandex strap popped off on one side) a few minutes after being taken out of the box. The mask wasn't important to me, so I didn't mind. If it's something you want, beware that it's very low quality.

Performance

First of all, I recommend having someone else help you install this product. It's easiest if one person lifts the mattress while the other slides the connector strap underneath. It's not impossible to install on your own, but it's a lot easier with help. The bigger and heavier your mattress is, the more difficult it is to do on your own.

What I like about this product's performance: The cuffs are comfortable and don't chafe, even with extended use. With the plastic sliders, the system is pretty easy to adjust to accommodate you/your partner's and the bed's size. I've owned this product for a year and have found it to be durable.

I've used this set with both a full mattress and a queen mattress. It's worked well with both, and presumably, works well on other sizes too.

What I don't like: You can move your arms from side to side, which means that you can undo your own wrist cuffs (and of course, with free hands, you could undo your own ankle cuffs as well). This might not bother some people, but the only way I want to be able to escape is via my partner's decision or a safe word. So really, when using this set, you're only restrained if you want to be. My partner has adjusted it before so that I couldn't move my hands so much, but I suspect that if I really pulled, I could probably win myself some slack and be able to reach my other hand. So if you're considering purchasing this product, ask yourself, "Do I want to be truly restrained, or do I want the illusion of restraint".

Now, this problem can be remedied pretty easily with a spreader bar. However, if you don't already own one, bear in mind that you'd need to purchase one (if you don't want to be able to free yourself or for your partner to free him/herself). This product suddenly isn't so cheap anymore if you need to buy a spreader bar to use it happily. In fact, you'll probably pay more for the bar than for this product. If you plan to travel with it (it could fit easily into a suitcase), you'd also need to bring the bar.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

This product can be stored as I described above by simply letting the cuffs hang or tucking them between the mattress and box spring if you don't want them to be seen. It's also light and doesn't take up too much room, so it can easily be kept in a drawer. It can simply be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The system comes in a fairly small cardboard box that features a picture of a lady in leather-like lingerie, restrained on a bed. It's certainly not discreet. Anyone can look at the box and know instantly what's inside. It's not especially strong cardboard. I discarded the box, though you could keep it to store the product if that is what you desired. The cardboard can be recycled.

Personal comments

To me, the "cute" factor matters. My overall impression of this product is influenced by its design, which was never intended to be aesthetically pleasing. I'd normally go for a more attractive product, but this product was so much cheaper than the others I had considered that I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a pretty good value for the money, though my chief complaint is that I could escape it, if desired, without my partner's help. I want real restraint, not just the illusion. As I mentioned above, you can achieve true restraint by adding a spreader bar. When I purchased this, however, I thought I'd be able to be truly restrained without one.

Experience

I've enjoyed using this product with my partner. It wasn't difficult for us to install or adjust, and the cuffs are comfortable. We feel as if it was a good value for the money, although if I had to do it over again, I'd be willing to pay more for a system that was more attractive and that doesn't need the addition of more equipment to truly restrain me.
