Leather vampire gloves - glove discontinued by Kinklab - review by Red Vinyl Kitty

Hello everyone. My name is redvinylkitty, and I have I have to admit something to you all:

I am a sensation junkie, and I'm also a masochist. I also like to buy presents for my husband for me when gift giving occasions come around. It's true.

With Valentine's Day approaching, I purchased these for my husband (for me!), after playing with a friend of ours who had a pair. I loved the sensation, and I knew that it could be used for evil as well as the sensual experience I had with them. Finding out that Eden carried them meant that I wasn't going to wait much longer to take the plunge and buy them.

They arrived in a speedy fashion, as all Eden Fantasys products do. They arrived loose in the box they were in, with no packaging whatsoever. The gloves were plastic stapled together, with a little tag. The tag and plastic staple were easily removed. The gloves have a leathery smell. They also only have spikes in the fingers of the gloves. The palms are completely spike free.

Glove sizes are hard to explain, but my husband has large hands. If you take an average DVD case, my husband's hands are the entire width of such a case. His fingers are large, but about two inches shorter than the case itself. We weren't sure what size gloves to get him, so we went with the large. They fit him beautifully.

I'll admit that when I first looked at these, I was unimpressed. They seem a bit thinner than I had expected, and they are unlined. The little spikes which are visible on the outside of the gloves (which provide such an interesting sensation) are sharp and pokey, but some of them are bent flat against the gloves. This doesn't affect the gloves in practice, but it isn't exactly aesthetically pleasing. The spikes are also felt to some degree by the wearer, they aren't sharp from the inside, but as the gloves are unlined you can feel them against your skin. This is not an unpleasant feeling per se, I don't find it to be scratchy or painful, but you can definitely feel that they are there.

I tried the gloves on myself. I have fairly small hands, so they don't fit me as well as my husband. However, he likes it when I put them on and very, very lightly rub his back with the spikes. He doesn't like any sort of pain, but to him this feels much more like a soft nails-against-the-back feeling.

There are so many things that you can do with these gloves, the possibilities are endless. We have used them to great effect stroking up and down the body. If you go lightly enough, there's no need to cause any pain with these. You can also add pressure as you stroke, creating a more "scratching" sensation. The deeper you press, the more intense the scratching will feel. My husband has used these pretty harshly on me, and we have never managed to draw blood. The spikes are just too short for that (they are really little more than a few milimeters in height), but if they were a bit longer, I'm sure you could.

Something else to try with them, if you're playing with someone who really enjoys pain is to spank with them. This is a very intense sensation. The first couple of spanks will feel fine, but as you continue your spanking, those little spikes on the gloves start feeling "sharper" as they spank into tender flesh. Make sure you practice caution with this technique and check in with your partner often.

These gloves can also be used to great effect on the nipples! It doesn't take much of a touch at all to get a reaction out of me. Those spikes mean business.

I recommend staying away from female genitals with these. The spikes feel much sharper down in those regions, and I worry about tearing the delicate tissue in that area. You could use these *very softly* on male genitals if you desire. I've had a couple of past lovers who really liked a light sensation of my nails on their penis. If you were to use these with the lightest touch, I think this could be very fun for males who enjoy that sort of sensation.

Cleaning these is tricky. Leather is porous, and therefore you shouldn't share these if they have, or could come into contact with bodily fluids. In order to keep the leather looking nice you could use a leather cleaner, but you'll only be able to put it in places where the spikes aren't. It is just impossible to get any kind of cleaner between the spikes.

These gloves are very soft and will easily fold into a drawer or toybox nicely, or pack for travel.

I just wanted to add to the follow up review, that we've been spanking with these more and more, and they *have* been drawing blood. Outside of the spanking, we have not drawn blood very often, but it has happened. Be careful with these, and don't share them if you draw blood.
