Riddle me this, riddle me that, who's afraid of...these little black cuffs?

The Good Girl Bad Girl Wrist Cuffs by Booty Parlor are a superb example of high-quality beginner cuffs. For those of you who are curious about testing your boundaries and pushing the limits by adding a little bondage to your bedroom, this set of cuffs may be perfect for you! The cuffs are extremely simple to use and are not intimidating in the least, with their beautiful, feminine ruffles and sleek, black comfort. I feel that the ruffles lend a distinctly feminine charm to this sexy, racy product, which may be more suitable for wear by women than men. However, to each his own!

I do not feel that these cuffs are intended for advanced users. If you plan to struggle, squirm, and tug while restrained, these cuffs may not be up to the challenge.

Please note: these cuffs are made with faux-leather, which makes them suitable for vegans.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The design of the Good Girl Bad Girl cuffs is quite lovely. They're made of a beautiful, sleek, black faux-leather, with delicate ruffles around the edges and dark metal accents. They have a small, white Booty Parlor logo on the inside of each. I find the design of the buckles and straps to be a little flimsy for my tastes, but for a set of beginner cuffs intended for light restraint, they'll certainly do.

The cuffs can be connected by two thin metal chains of varying lengths, which end in twin snaps and are intended to be attached to the D-ring on each cuff. The chain itself had two small, pale pink bows on either end, but when I received the item one of them had come untied. I simply removed them because I'm not a big fan of pink and because couldn't manage to tie the tiny ribbon back into place! On one end of the chain there is also a small fabric tag stitched onto the ring. It reads: "Booty Parlor, 100% PU, MADE IN CHINA". I removed this as well.

One thing I found strange and rather unfortunate was the placement of the small D-rings, which the chain fastens to. The D-rings are hidden beneath the ends of the straps, behind the buckle. They are well out of the way if you intend to use these cuffs purely as a fashion accessory, but they are anything but functional in that position. Also, the ring is simply sandwiched loosely between the two layers that make up the straps, making them too flimsy to really be pulled on or struggled against, lest you rip them right loose from the straps. The stitching appears clean and even. It seems sturdy enough for simple wearing the cuffs around or for a slight foray into restraint, but I wouldn't recommend putting up a fight or pulling very hard against them. I don't think it will hold.

Besides having an adjustable buckle on each cuff, there are three snaps, which allow for even further size adjustment, making these cuffs delightfully customizable when it comes to fit. Once you've adjusted the cuffs to the correct size, you shouldn't have need of the buckle portion again, as you can simply make use of the available snaps, making the fastening of these cuffs extremely simple.

By my estimation, they can range from about a 5-8" circumference. I feel that these cuffs will fit just about anyone. If you're handy and have larger or smaller wrists than the aforementioned sizes, the straps are long enough to allow for maybe one more hole to be added at either end.

Performance

I purchased these cuffs purely to wear around at parties and things like that because I prefer rope bondage to any other type of restraint. However, I did test them out and I feel that they will hold up just fine for someone who wants to be bound. If you have a squirmy, resistant bottom who likes to struggle, these cuffs may not be up to the challenge. They are for light restraint only. Bear in mind that, in use with a different attachment (besides the weak chain that is included with them), they are a little bit more durable.

The cuffs are extremely comfortable. They are soft and didn't have any protruding edges or seams that rubbed my wrists. They're absolutely beautiful and very well-made. When worn for extended periods of time, they may get a little hot and slippery underneath as they don't breathe at all, making for sweaty wrists!
    • Comfortable during use

Care and Maintenance

The cuffs are extremely easy to care for. I wipe them with a damp rag, pat them dry, and then allow them to air dry before putting them away.

Storage is very simple as well, since the box that the cuffs come in is sturdy and beautiful with a swirly pink design on a black background. The front of the box has a small black ribbon and you can pull on this to open it, revealing a little cardboard drawer for you to keep your cuffs stored flat in! I keep them in the box inside my underwear drawer for easy access. You may choose to store them rolled up, laid flat, or even hung up by the chain.

Personal comments

In closing, I have very mixed feelings about these cuffs. As someone who practices other forms of bondage, including rope bondage, I find these cuffs to be a little bit lacking in the durability department. However, there is no denying that they are high quality and presented as a luxury item. I find them to be far more effective in use as a fashion accessory or a slightly kinky touch to a sensual evening, than as a bondage device meant to truly contain someone. They are not sturdy enough to hold up to any amount of struggling or tugging.

Experience

I am in the process of attempting to turn my new love interest on to the glorious world of BDSM. As such, these cuffs have been a wonderful thing for our play sessions. Allow me to tell you a story, which in my eyes, exemplifies the most effective use for these cuffs.

The room was softly lit by candles, the warm scent of them matching the glow of the flickering flames. I led him into the room, sat him on the bed, and slowly slipped out of the dress I'd worn to dinner, revealing black lace lingerie framing the curves of my body in the wavering candlelight. I handed him the cuffs, dangling them by their thin chain on the crook of my index finger. He took them and I held out my hands as he placed the cuffs around my wrists, gently fastening the snaps, before standing and kissing me. Turning around, he pulled me into place and I lay down on the bed, stretched out before him, my hands bound overhead by the soft embrace of the cuffs. On the bedside table was a selection of items, from bamboo skewers and feathers to ice cubes and rubber bands. The next hour or so passed in a flurry of sensations. A rabbit fur in his hand caressing my thighs, the snap of the rubber bands against my breasts, the melting ice pooling in my navel, his tongue following the cold, wet trail down between my legs...

There's just a little taste for you. I hope you enjoyed it!
Follow-up commentary
Sadly, these definitely did not hold up to the vigor of an actual play session :( Halfway through, we abandoned their flimsy/slippery/sweaty hold on my wrists for the soft, sturdy, comfortable grip of simple rope cuffs. They were too much of a distraction from being able to give myself in to the sensation of immobility. I was too nervous that they wouldn't hold, they were hot and sweaty around my wrists, and

On the other hand, they were an absolute hit when worn as a fashion accessory at a recent play party. They perfectly complimented the black leather corset and heels that I wore with my schoolgirl outfit :) The ensemble earned a lot of praise and these adorable, ruffly little cuffs

When it comes to actual bondage play, I think I'll stick to the reliability of rope! However, these are definitely going to be a recurring component of my wardrobe when it comes to dressing for fetish/kink events!
