The smell at first is noticeable but not as bad as everyone says. After a few washes the smell completely goes away but even after opening it I did not think the smell was overwhelming. Like I said, use a mild soap or you can purchase toy cleaner on this website but for a quick wash just use soap and water and you should be good to go.
