A Tale of Two Mistresses (Part One)

The Mistress stands apart because it can lead to discoveries about preferences including size, firmness, and texture. As a lovely partner-in-crime, this dildo is great for harness play because of its girth and length. As my first dildo, I was pleasantly surprised with Vixen Creations' Mistress.

Use

Hand-crafted by Vixen Creations (VC), the Mistress is a foxy dildo that may be used for masturbation, as well as in a harness or for anal play because of its flared base. The Mistress might not satisfy a size queen (or king), but I would still suggest it as a warm-up dildo. I consider myself a beginner when it comes to both experience and girth, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this dildo. As a safety precaution, be careful thrusting because the dildo may bump up against the cervix.

The picture with the Dungeons and Dragons orange dice shows that the material is a swirling mix of royal purple and blue.

Material / Texture

I chose this as my first dildo because of its semi-realistic features and unique coloration. It is firm throughout and flexible enough for the head to be bent to the base with little effort. The pronounced head can be used to stimulate the G-spot or P-spot, as well as being pleasurable if you want to practice oral techniques on the dildo.

Although the texture is smooth, the Mistress' silicone has a high amount of drag and feels a bit sticky; it had no smell or taste when it arrived. I've always used lube to help me warm up, otherwise the insertable length becomes uncomfortable. As mentioned in the Use section, the dildo is a mix of colors. The picture in this section is the dildo underwater to demonstrate the swirling pattern up-close.

Design / Shape / Size

The indiscreet, semi-realistic design includes two realistic features: the head and the coronal ridge. The coronal ridge is on the top third of the dildo, from the head down. It is very subtle and I haven't felt it while using it internally. The head is not as realistic as the Mistress' larger counterpart, the Leo. Unlike the Leo, it lacks details such as a foreskin and a urethral opening.

With a slight curve, the Mistress is 7" long with 6.5" being insertable. This dildo would be appropriate for a beginner because the circumference is less than 5"; it is 4" in circumference with a diameter of 1.25". What might be uncomfortable to a beginner at first is the length; I myself found it a bit too long until I started to warm up more.

Performance

I am still learning how to stimulate my G-spot. So when I say I have not had an orgasm with this dildo, don't hold it against the Mistress' potential. Having prefaced with that, I like how firm the head is because I do feel something on my G-spot when I am thrusting. Because of the smooth texture, there's no irritation. What's not so great is because the silicone has a lot of drag, I always have to use lube; otherwise, the thrusting isn't smooth sailing.

What I really liked about the Mistress is that in a harness it is doesn't 'become' too short for thrusting. Compared to the other 4" circumference dildos listed below (Similar Products), the Mistress has the longest insertable length. Because it is very firm, I think it is easier to guide than squishier, silicone dildos. If you are looking for an O-ring for using the Mistress in a harness, the 1.5" Doc Johnson plated chrome ring worked for me.

The suction cup on the base works well on smooth walls, both in and out of the bathroom. If you are going to be thrusting upon it, it's better to use it in the bathroom because the moisture will help it from coming off. After using the Mistress for a few months I haven't noticed any changes in the suction cup's staying power. Compared to the turquoise Mistress' flat base, the suction cup base feels a bit odd in a harness. Just a minor detail that isn't irritating, but rather an observation.

Care and Maintenance

Because this lovely dildo is silicone, you have several options for cleaning: boiling for 3 minutes, using a 10% bleach solution, top rack of the dishwasher, spray with a toy cleaner. or wash with antibacterial soap. If washing by hand or using a toy cleaner, you may want to spend extra time cleaning underneath the head. The picture on the left shows how much of a 'magnet' for particles the Mistress is. It was taken after I wiped down the dildo with a paper towel.

I store the Mistress in a Ziploc bag or upright on my nightstand. Please use only water-based lubes, as silicone-based lube can damage the silicone material. I know from firsthand experience because I accidentally used a condom coated in silicone-based lube and it damaged the silicone, voiding Vixen Creations' warranty policy (picture on the left).

Packaging

The storage container reminds me of the canisters used by banks at the drive-through (sans a green lollipop). It is a plastic cylinder with two red cylindrical caps on both ends and a black adhesive label with the manufacturer's (Vixen Creations) information. The label can removed with rubbing alcohol. Because the container is transparent, it is in no way discreet if you store it in the open.

I recycled the container that came with the toy because I thought the shape wouldn't be affected. But I was wrong. As you can see in the picture above, the Mistress that has been stored upright in the container is perkier than my first Mistress. If you are going to give this as a gift, I would suggest wrapping the Mistress up.

Personal comments

When I damaged this dildo it was after the two-month (60-day) return window closed for EdenFantasys. I liked this dildo so much that I decided to substitute the Mistress vibe kit as a replacement. Eventually I'll replace the purple Mistress, but until then I'll keep it to demonstrate how silicone can be damaged.

Follow-up commentary
If I hadn't accidentally damaged this dildo with a silicone-lubricated condom, then this would be my go-to dildo. However, since the damage might make the silicone not as safe, I've switched to the turquoise Mistress vibe kit version.

Someday I might buy a replacement suction cup version because I really do like the purple color. I still would recommend the Mistress dildo.

    Great review and great pics!
    Sorry it was damaged though
Luckily I don't have silicone based lubes so I don't have to worry about that and I store all my toys in original packaging away from each other

Gah, stupid browser repeating the message >.>

Genderfree: I'm happy you like the dice picture, I am having fun with my 'mistresses'; although I will be replacing this one since it's damaged :/

*Camoprincess*: It does suck that is was damaged, but now I know to assume that most condoms are silicone-lubricated.

IndependentlyHappy:I'm glad you like the pictures and that the review was useful to you ^-^

ArchVixen: I have a few dice sets myself, yay for nerdiness ~

You geek, you! I, too, love the dice photo. I still have my pearly-white set from waaaaay back when. Great review--you made me consider this one!
