Realistic vibrator discontinued

A real pleasure indeed

All and all this is a fairly well rounded toy. Although nothing about it goes above and beyond it really fits the bill nicely for what it is. An inexpensive waterproof multi-speed realistic vibrator not intended for anal or harness use.

Use

The real pleasure is intended for vaginal use but can also be used for clitoral stimulation and non penetrating anal stimulation as well. Since this vibrator does not have the flared base that is present on toys intended for anal use, anal penetration is not advised.

There is no real experience level needed with this toy. It's soft squishy texture, non overwhelming vibrations, and easy to understand dial are perfect for those looking to experiment with realistic vibrators. However, its 4 1/2 - 4 3/4 inch circumference may be problematic for those who do not like vibrators with a larger girth.

Good for masturbation or use with a partner, the Real Pleasure is waterproof, so it can be used in both shower and submerged bath scenarios. If you are going to fully submerge this toy make sure that the cap is closed completely. It's quiet enough to be used in a multiple living or dorm situations.

Material / Texture

For me this is the area that lost this product stars. It was so close to perfect but had some major flaws.

First is its material. The Real Pleasure is made of TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) and plastic. The body of the toy is TPR while the core and dial are plastic. TPR is hypoallergenic, nontoxic and phthalate free so it should be safe for most if not all users, however it is rated at a 7 on the safety scale since it's porous material can hold harmful bacteria and infections.

The body of the vibrator has a soft feel to its surface comparable to a silicone toy. When it's squeezed there is plenty of give. If I had to pick a word to describe it, it would have to be squishy. Even though there is a plastic center to toy I hardly notice when squeezing it. It is fairly flexible from the tip to about 1 1/2 inches down, roughly where the head and the shaft meet. After that the plastic core comes into play so it's more rigid but still very squishy. You won't hit a hard edge or lip on this toy at all. It does have some drag if you drag your finger down the shaft but it's nothing that a little lube wont fix right up during play.

There are some pretty noticeable ridges through the full length of the toy and even though they are visually pronounced the overall softness of the toy doesn't make them too intense for people just starting out or who don't like intense ribbing. They do add a really nice sensation for penetration but I can't say one would be totally aware of them without a thrusting movement.

With in and out penetration the ridges themselves can be felt but it's slightly hard to explain. During penetration I feel the smooth silicone like texture and due to the girth a real feeling of fullness when the vibrator is fully inserted. The sensation created by the ridges is felt more at the point of insertion or withdraw. As it enters and exits during penetration there is a bit of a pleasant dragging sensation due to the ridges. There is no detectible "catch" if you will as the ridges pass your lips during thrusting. I have seen this with some of the other more firm realistic toys and sometimes if those ridges/veins don't have enough give they can feel almost like they are scratching are catching upon entrance, especially with a wider toy like this one.

A MAJOR bummer for me with this toy is the smell. As soon as I removed it from it's packaging I noticed a strong smell that reminds me of a slightly sweet DW-40. Now, it has faded a bit with time and use, but 2 weeks later and I still notice it when it's sitting 5-8 inches away from me on the bed. There was never too much of a taste to the material even when it was new which I found amazing considering the smell so that was a bit of a saving point.

As much as I love how this toy feels the smell and material together are forcing me to dock a star for this category.

Design / Shape / Size

I found the overall size to be quite pleasurable. With an overall length of 7 1/2 inches and an insertable length of 6 1/2 inches it fit me very well. I didn't mind the girth at all since it had so much give. At it largest point it is just under 5 inches in circumference and 1 3/8 inches in diameter while at it's smallest point it measure a little over 4 1/2 inches in circumference and 1 1/4 in diameter. There really is not much of a variation from the bottom of the shaft to the tip of the toy and with no bulging head there was no catching on my pelvic bone. I wouldn't advise someone who was on the narrow side use this if they don't enjoy a very full feeling but I really do believe beginners and more advanced users alike can use this toy.

The toy is easy enough to hide if you have a designated container for your toys but I wouldn't recommend leaving it out in the open if you don't wish for someone to know you own a sex toy. It's pretty obvious what your looking at here.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Real Pleasure has multi-speed vibrations adjustable by an easy to use dial at the base of the toy.

The cap is a black twist cap that when opened houses the 2 AAA batteries, not included. Accidental opening has never happened during play but, as it always seems with these very simple dial caps, it is easy to accidentally hit the dial up or down a notch or even off completely during use.

I can't say exactly how many speeds it has but it varies from a barely audible 1 bee that could be muffled by a comforter to a louder 3 bee hum that would be hard to hide in the same room.

The vibrations for me didn't seem exactly rumbly nor high and itchy but rather somewhere in between. The lowest speed is definitely noticeable but only around maybe a highish 1 on the vroom scale. I did find it to have just enough rumble to make an ok clitoral vibrator at it's highest level which probably falls somewhere around a higher 3. It wasn't anything amazing and obviously pin point vibrations are not really an option, but it was a nice discovery in the middle of a play session when one of my clitoral vibrators died.

The vibrations themselves actually come from the tip of the plastic rod that holds the batteries that runs through the center of the toy. It can be felt the strongest right under the head of the toy but the vibrations travel pretty well through the whole length. When I use it a clitoral vibrator I lay it vertically so it kind of rest on my belly and I can feel it all through the points that the vibrator is touching my skin. Belly to bits they all get buzz ;-)

This vibrator does claim to be waterproof and after taking it into the shower for cleaning and submerging it several times it is still working fine. They do state very plainly on a sticker at the bottom of toy though "Must close cap tightly". That is good advice.

This toy has proved so far not to be a battery guzzler which is nice as we find ourselves reaching for this one pretty often.

Care and Maintenance

TPR is not boilable however it can be washed with mild soapy warm water or a toy cleaner. As mentioned earlier the TPR that makes up the body of the toy is porous and can hold harmful bacteria. It is recommended that people use condoms or toy covers on these toys if they plan on sharing them since they can never be truly sterilized. There aren't any grooves or anything like that to make cleaning more difficult but the sleeve can be pulled away from the plastic rod inside so pay mind to that when cleaning.

As far as lubes go, the Real Pleasure is water and silicone lubricant safe, but again keep in mind condoms are HIGHLY recommended if this toy has the possibility of being shared. In those instances make sure your lubricant is also condom safe.

One slightly frustrating thing about this toy is its ability to attract all kinds of hair and lint so you definitely want to keep it stored inside of something to prevent it from becoming your new lint roller.

Packaging

The Real Pleasure came in a fairly basic clear plastic container with fold down flaps to hold it closed.
There are some pink and green designs on the clear plastic as well as the EF logo and information on the site.

It isn't terribly sturdy but I have been using it for storage none the less to help keep lint from sticking to the toy after it been cleaned.

Since it is clear the toy is clearly visible inside so it is definitely not a discreet form of storage.

Personal comments

We found this a nice substitute for practicing oral sex and training my gag reflex.

Experience

I personally love the feel of this toy. The texture is right up my alley as I either like toys that are very firm or very soft. This fits the soft bill and I couldn't be happier.
Follow-up commentary
Ok, so I have to go with "I still like it" because I do indeed still like the toy. My only real issue is that keeping it clean has gone from "slightly frustrating" to a major f*@%ing pain in the butt! Almost anything lint, dirt or hair-like sticks onto it and I've come to realize there's not a surface in my house that is completely free from all of these things. I thought silicone was bad with picking up stray fibers but I'm not kidding when I say this baby can rival my lint roller. Great for a quick brush up before you dart out the door, but not ideal when looking for an easily maintained adult toy. So to make a long story short, I still love the toy, still hate the maintenance.
