Cyclone Blew Me Away!

If you've had your fill of g-spot focused internal toys, check out the versatile and beautiful Cyclone Wand. It might ignore your g-spot entirely, but it will provide plenty of stimulation to more neglected territory.
Published:
Pros
Body safe, filling, and great at stimulating the deepest erogenous zones. Gorgeous.

Will do little to stimulate most g-spots.

Use

The Cyclone Wand is a beautiful and satisfyingly hefty glass dildo meant to provide internal solo pleasure for a female bodied person. At this, it does a marvelous job, providing virtually frictionless thrusting and a satisfying fullness. It is not designed for targeted g-spot stimulation, but it does work quite well at stimulating the anterior fornix erogenous zone (a-spot) and even the cervix itself, if you desire.

The length, combined with the hard material, means that overenthusiastic thrusting does have the potential to bruise the cervix, so care should be exercised in that regard, especially in partner play. Each woman's body is different, so while some enjoy stimulation in that area, others find it quite painful. Know your own body, and take new experiences slowly.

Since the Cyclone lacks a flared base, and is also incredibly slippery, it is definitely not recommended for anal use. If that is your intention, please consider a different toy.

Material / Texture

Glass is among the safest materials for sex toys. It is non-porous and can therefore be sterilized for sharing between orifices (although the Cyclone is not recommended for anal play) or partners; it is odor-free, phthalates-free, and safe for those with allergies to certain materials; and it requires little, if any, lubrication.

The Cyclone Wand is smooth and slippery, making it easy to thrust. Beginners should note that glass is a firm material, and exercise appropriate caution.

Pyrex glass will not shatter if broken, but is instead designed to break into chunks if tragedy should strike -- dropping it on a tiled floor might break it. The human body is not capable of producing the force necessary to fracture one of these toys in use, but for safety's sake, users are encouraged to always check for chips or stress fractures before playtime.

I recently dropped a different glass toy from a height of several feet onto a hard surface, and it survived the experience without suffering a single scratch, so I can attest to the durability, but it's unwise to press one's luck, especially with a beloved piece.

The Cyclone Wand I received does have one extremely minor imperfection, in that the rounder end has the slightest dent on one side. That in no way affects the performance. It can be felt with the fingers, but not in use, and it's not visible. In my opinion, this little birthmark only adds to the charm of the piece.

Other users have noticed tiny bubbles in the glass of this toy. I discovered that those were only visible if I darkened the room, and then looked straight through the toy when it was held up to a desk lamp. So if tiny bubbles offend you, don't stare through your dildo into a bright white light while sitting in a dark room. These are a natural consequence of glass making, and do not indicate a safety concern.

Design / Shape / Size

The Cyclone is, in my opinion, perfectly designed. It's beautiful to look at -- a photo can never do it justice -- but more importantly, it is ideal for its purpose. The thickness is marvelously filling, the length is satisfying, and the shape is perfect for reaching the deepest erogenous zones. The dual ends provide two choices for stimulation -- one end has a slight point, while the other is much more rounded.

It's possible that those who strongly prefer smaller toys for insertion might find the Cyclone just a bit much. It's a touch more than an inch and a quarter around, and the firmness makes it feel slightly larger. However, thanks to the lack of texture, even those new to firm materials should be able to use the Cyclone after some warmup.

As for discretion, the Cyclone bears no resemblance to any body part, and is a classy looking toy. However, all but the most naive snoops would guess that it's a dildo, so a cover story about darning socks will probably only work if the other party allows it to work. That said, it's easy enough to hide thanks to the provided pouch.

Performance

The smooth glass of the Cyclone Wand glides easily, allowing for effortless thrusting at any speed the user desires. It provides a satisfying fullness, and it reaches the deeper erogenous zones quite well. Users who do not require a curved toy to apply pressure to their g-spots might find the rounded end adequate for that use, although I personally found that the toy was a bit thick to manipulate in that way, and preferred to use it on deeper spots.

The Cyclone Wand carries vibrations quite well. Tested with the Rechargeable Mystic Wand from Vibratex, it felt a little different than other glass toys in the same situation. Good different, although I find myself at a loss to explain why.

Inserted fully and angled just slightly upward, the Cyclone Wand provides an intense sensation by stimulating the anterior fornix. Alternately, it can simply be enjoyed as a hefty toy to clench around during external stimulation.

The Cyclone is also excellent for temperature play. Chill it in a glass of icewater for a frosty thrill, or warm it up for a different sensation. For safety's sake, never play with a toy fresh from the freezer, and don't heat sex toys in the microwave. Frostbite isn't sexy, and neither is burned skin.

Care and Maintenance

Glass is among the easiest materials to clean. Since it's non-porous, it will not harbor bacteria, and a quick wash in hot, soapy water is all that's needed after use. If sterilization is needed, it can be wiped down with a ten percent bleach solution, or boiled, or run through the top rack of the dishwasher without soap. (Pyrex glass will endure dish soap quite well, but your body might not be as forgiving.)

All lubricants are compatible with glass.

Storage is a snap, thanks to the provided toy pouch, but do take care that the Cyclone is secured well enough that it won't clank into other glass or metal toys.

Packaging

The Cyclone Wand arrived in a red velvet pouch that's quite attractive, wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap. It would make an attractive gift between intimates, and it's excellent for storage, depending of course on the user's need for discretion.

Incidentally, the bubble wrap proved an ideal size for mailing a CD, so that was a nice bonus.

Personal comments

I have a fair number of excellent toys, but the SSA Glass Cyclone Wand quickly earned a favored spot in my collection. I absolutely recommend it.
Follow-up commentary
After all of this time, the Cyclone remains one of my favorite and most regularly used toys. Being glass, it's as beautiful and functional as it was the day it arrived.

I love glass because it rarely requires lube, and the smoothness of this one provides a nice full feeling without much warmup. That makes it ideal for quickies, especially since it cleans up quickly as well.

The five star rating I originally gave is definitely well deserved.

It's a shame it doesn't do much for the G-spot but it's a beautiful toy and I don't think that's too much of a con to outweigh the good. Great review!

its a shame that they do not provide boxes for their items, i received this and 3 other glass items all just in bags.. shocked they weren't all broken. Very pretty but really think they need to provide their items in boxes to avoid damage. I am not sure if it's just the company or if glass items in general.. but for me that was a big let down for i expected them to be packaged.
