The back of the package has a few facts and care instructions on it for people who need to have a reference handy since there are no instructions that come with the product. Most people will not need any additional instructions on care of the product, so instructions are not necessary. The packaging is great for storage purposes. The tube is super strong and will withstand normal use. If it was to be stepped on however, it would break into a million plastic pieces. If cared for well, it can definitely last as long as the toy. I would definitely recommend keeping the tube for storage. If the tube breaks, simply store the toy in a plastic Ziploc bag to prevent the toy from being damaged by other non silicone toys. It is see through, so I would not recommend it for gift giving unless discreetness is not needed.
