Tragically - I am writing this review after committing the biggest sin against a glass toy. That's right -I dropped it.

Prior to that fateful day - the Red Cyclone wand was one of my favorite toys. Especially when I wanted just a nice leisurely session. It was a sentimental favorite.

It is the first glass toy I ever owned and an excellent introduction to that world. The little nubs are a nice easy way to try out a little texture. The glass is smooth and a nice size at either end (not too intimidating). A cup of hot or cold water adds another level of sensation for you to experiment with - be sure to test out the temperature on your inner wrist first! Really, it is a perfect starter toy and one I found myself picking up often long after I was not a "beginner." While it is double ended - there is not a true flared base so I don't necessarily recommend this for anal use. If you have a very cautious, very thoughtful partner you can certainly try it. Also, remember that glass has no give - so start slow - you can absolutely hurt yourself if you are a bit too overenthusiastic with your thrusts!

I personally love glass toys because they are so pretty and this one is no exception.The red swirls through the glass are just the right touch and force the eye to travel along the shaft. The other reason I love glass toys is they are just so darn easy to clean! Boil it, toss it in the dishwasher, toy cleaner, antibacterial soap, 10% bleach solution - just remember to rinse!

Finally - and I am not happy that I can attest to this - since it is made from borosilicate glass (same stuff as some Pyrex, but this is also the stuff laboratory glass instruments are made out of) if you do happen to drop it from a decent height onto a tile floor - it will crack and break into larger chunks as opposed to splintering shards. So very easy to pick up. :( I miss this delightful light toy!
