I'm Bdisappointed

The Bcurious has a lot of good qualities, and would be a great choice for someone who enjoys moderate strength. I, however, need more power and the many pros this toy has don't matter to me when it just doesn't get the job done.

Use

Bcurious is designed to be a clitoral vibrator, and it can be used on any other external areas such as the nipples. This toy would fit between bodies during sex with a partner, and of course can be used solo. It's supposed to be waterproof, and although it's probably fine for shower use, I wouldn't risk submerging this one.

Material / Texture

This toy is made from ABS plastic and silicone. The black part, which actually touches your body, is made from plastic with a smooth, velvety coating. The slightly raised, fuschia strip is silicone and doesn't seem to have much purpose, although it could help with gripping depending on how you hold the toy.

Design / Shape / Size

The Bcurious is attractive, modern and pretty discreet; it doesn't look like a sex toy, but it is interesting looking and might attract some attention if you left it lying around. It has a curved shape with a pointed tip that is designed to hug the curve of a woman's vulva and stimulate the clit. It's just over 4 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall at the thick end. The shape fits nicely against my body and is narrow enough to easily fit between my labia. It worked best for me when pressed against my body, but you could also use just the tip for pinpointed stimulation. There are indentations on the sides and bottom where fingers could rest, but I usually cup it in the palm of my hand. I tried inserting the tip into my vagina out of curiousity, and it was able to reach my g-spot, but I found it too pointy and not particularly enjoyable. I noticed that the Bcurious is very light for it's size and it feels like the wide end is hollow.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Controls:
There are 2 buttons on the end of the toy that glow blue while in use. One is a power button and it turns to toy on to standby mode, or quickly turns it off. The other button activates and cycles through the vibrations. The controls are easy to use and I haven't had a problem with pressing buttons accidentally. The buttons are squishy and make a clicking noise when you press them. They can't be locked for travel. My only complaint about the control panel is that the logo and symbols are upside down for the way you will be holding the toy while using it.

Vibrations:
There are 3 speeds of steady vibrations followed by 4 patterns:
1. Escalating
2. Fast pulsing
3. Even faster pulsing
4. Short, short, long pulsing

I'm not a big fan of patterns, and these ones are pretty standard and uninteresting, but if you like them they are there.

The vibrations are focused in the tip of the toy. They are buzzy and have an electronic feel and sound to them, especially on the escalation setting, which reminds me of an arcade game. This is a quiet toy; it can't be heard from beneath a thick comforter and would be a good choice for someone worried about being overheard.

Charging:
There is a charging port in the side of the toy, with a black silicone cover/plug. It doesn't seem extremely secure to me, which is why I don't recommend this toy for bath use. It is enough to stop me from being paranoid during cleaning, unlike some other toys (Siri, I'm looking at you.) The instructions don't say how long to charge it, or how long a charge will last, but both are around 2 hours. The blue light behind the buttons blinks while the toy is charging, then glows when the charge is complete. The instructions warn not to charge for longer than 24 hours.

Care and Maintenance

The Bcurious is easily washed with soap and water. You can also wipe it down with alcohol for a more thorough cleaning. Due to the silicone strip, you should avoid using silicone lube with this toy. I think it's unfortunate that you get the one downside of silicone, but no real benefit from it since most of the toy is plastic. It comes with a black, drawstring storage pouch made from material that feels like a thin sweatshirt. The pouch is large enough to hold both the Bcurious and it's charger.

Packaging

Bcurious comes in a modern-looking, black and fuschia box. The front has a classy black and white photo of a woman wearing a bra. There is a picture of the toy on the side of the box and a small amount of product information. Inside the box is a plastic tray with the Bcurious, charger, storage pouch and instructions. It is attractive enough to give as a gift. If you like to store your toys in their boxes this one will work, but I find it too bulky and keep mine in the pouch.

Experience

I've owned the Bcurious for about 6 months, and have never had an orgasm from it despite repeated tries. The vibrations feel pleasant, but just aren't enough to get me there no matter how aroused I am. I wish I could combine the Bcurious and Layspot into one toy since one has the right shape for me but weak vibrations, and the other has decent vibrations but the wrong shape.
Follow-up commentary
I haven't used the Bcurious at all since writing my review. It could be a great toy for someone more sensitive, but it's just not strong enough to do anything for me.
