Lackluster

Tiani comes on strong with some fabulous, innovative and unique features and a fantastic idea but a slightly flawed design execution and moderate power level leave something to be desired. Overall, definitely not worth the high price tag. Though I'm usually not hesitant to spend a lot on quality toys, this one just doesn't measure up. The materials and concept are great but it's just not quite there. A mild redesign of the clitoral end and power boost would vastly improve this toy.

Use

This is intended as a couple's vibrator. It has a remote control to allow for settings to be changed without touching the toy itself. It is meant to be worn by a woman during vaginal intercourse with the c-shape allowing for one end to be inserted vaginally with the other resting against her clitoris. Of course, as you might imagine, myriad alternative uses exist for this little toy. It can, of course, be worn by a woman for solo play. It is waterproof and sanitizeable which makes it a possible dual penetration toy. I'm certain it would be possible to devise a way to use it anally on a man. The features of this toy make it pretty multi-functional if you are creative. We purchased this toy as a lesbian couple with the intention that it could be worn during strap-on sex by the partner wearing the harness. While this is possible, it is a little less than satisfactory for us.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of the super smooth premium matte silicone that is Lelo's hallmark. Lelo doesn't disappoint on Tiana. The back of the remote and the ring where the two halves of the vibrator screw together are made of shiny, silver ABS plastic. The material is very smooth with little to no drag and no texture. There is no taste or smell and the feeling of the material is sensuous and very pleasant to touch. The middle of the toy is very flexible and the insertable attachments are a bit squishy. The clitoral portion is very firm and rigid.

Design / Shape / Size

In theory, the design of this toy is pretty genius. It's a C-shaped toy with one end intended for vaginal insertion and the other intended to rest on the clitoris. It offers the choice of two insertable ends that can be changed out. One is smaller and the other is labelled as the "fuller feeling" attachment. Overall, it's small enough to fit in my rather small hand. It's a bit complicated to explain the measurements so I've included pictures labelled with measurements.
measure1
measure 2
The smaller attachment is just a little bigger than a finger, rounded and tapered to the tip.
attachments
The larger attachment is closer to the size of a thumb. The "top" (the part that will, ideally, rest on the g-spot) is rounded to hopefully provide more g-spot pressure while the "bottom" (which the penis would slide against during PIV intercourse) is concave, presumably to make intercourse easier. The larger attachment is a bit longer, but only barely, not really worth noting.
from end full
The middle section of the toy is very flexible and easy to bend and open. It may result in the toy not providing enough pressure for some folks but should be better at accommodating a wider range of bodies.
flex1
fullflex
My complaint on the design is mostly due to anatomical conflict. The placement of my clitoris is such that the end of the clitoral attachment sort of blows right past it placing the bulk of the vibrations too high above my clitoris to do me much good. The clitoral end is very rounded which means that it doesn't always sit perfectly on the clitoris, tending instead to end up on one side of it or the other. If the part that rests against the clitoris was flatter or, better yet, slightly concave, it would stay in place a little better, making it a better hands-free toy. Instead I found that I had to keep moving it back into place repeatedly.
On the plus side, this toy doesn't immediately scream SEX TOY when you see it. I'm not quite sure what someone would assume but they'd probably just be more confused that anything. You can unscrew the two ends of the vibe to prevent it from being turned on in transit and it comes with a pouch big enough to accomodate the toy and both attachments, the remote and the charger so travelling is very possible.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This is where this toy gets interesting. The controls are a bit tricky to master though and definitely take some thought which isn't ideal in the heat of the moment.
buttons
To turn it on, press the button on the clitoral end and the + button on the remote. The toy is now in Mode 1. If the remote is held horizontally, the remote and the toy will vibrate at a very low speed. Tilt the remote vertical and the vibrations in both increase. Press the center button on the remote to go into Mode 2. In this mode, moving the remote around or shaking it will increase the vibrations. Kinda silly and not super practical but interesting nonetheless. Press the center button on the remote again and the toy goes into Mode 3. The toy now works with the + and - buttons on the remote. Note, the vibrations occur in both the toy and the remote. To turn off this feature in any mode, press and hold the center button. With the vibrations in the remote off, the light on the remote will flash faster when the toy is vibrating at higher speeds. Pressing the center button again will begin to cycle through the various pattern modes, pulsing, rollercoaster, etc. All the usual suspects. The modes can definitely take some playing to figure out and the first two are mostly useless in my opinion except for being silly. Who wants to wave the remote around like a maniac mid coitus? The functions are certainly revolutionary and interesting, but not necessarily practical.
The vibrations are strongest toward the end of the clitoral attachment which, for those with minimal distance between their clitoris and vaginal opening, like me, will make the toy less effective.
Note, the little funny dark grey plastic bit that's included in the box is a key to be inserted in the slot on the back of the remote and turned to open the battery compartment.

The toy is waterproof, however I believe that the remote is not so use caution. But submerging the toy is completely ok and it's safe for those who get very wet or female-ejaculate.
The toy is very quiet, the remote is slightly louder.
The question that seems to get asked most about this toy is whether the remote works through clothing. We didn't try it fully clothed but we did try it through our harnesses and it worked just fine through those.
The vibrator is rechargeable, however, the remote takes 2 AAA batteries. To recharge the vibrator, unscrew the clitoral end from the insertable attachment and plug the included AC Adaptor into the port in the clitoral end.

charging
It's not exceptionally powerful. I was able to orgasm with it during sex but not during solo play.
We found that it did work being worn inside the harness by the "topping" partner but did have a tendency to slip off the clitoris to one side or the other. It didn't work well to be worn by the "bottoming" partner during strap-on sex, even with a fair amount of lube, because silicone on silicone caused too much drag to be comfortable. This should be much less of an issue with a real penis.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to clean, however, it's important to note that the clitoral end shouldn't be submerged without the insertable end screwed into place to prevent water from getting into the charging port on the clitoral end. Silicone is non-porous, body safe, phthalate free and can be sanitized. This toy can be cleaned with soap and water, a toy cleaner of your choice, rubbing alcohol or a 10% bleach solution to sanitize. Use care cleaning the remote as I'm not convinced that the battery compartment is waterproof, however, when assembled, the vibrator itself is waterproof so it's safe to submerge it during cleaning.
For lube, water and oil based lubes should be fine, but silicone lubes should be avoided.
As with all silicone toys, storing this toy with other silicone toys is safe, but it shouldn't be stored with materials like jelly, latex or rubber which might degrade and damage the silicone.
This toy comes with a satin draw string pouch which makes an excellent storage option. The box is also very sturdy and makes a great storage solution as well.

Packaging

As with all Lelo packaging, this toy is beautifully presented. The outer box is thin cardboard with pictures and info, etc. printed on it but another box slides out of that and it's matte black cardboard and very sleek. It would make an excellent gift box and a discreet storage solution. The LELO name is embossed in the lid. The lid lifts off to reveal a velveteen topped foam with cutouts for the toy and remote to nest in. A compartment accessed by a flap is under the foam and conceals the charger, pouch, warranty card, instructions and other bits and bats.

Experience

We ultimately don't use this toy very much which is a huge shame given the price tag but the shape and length of the clitoral attachment combined with the relatively low strength of the vibrations make it fairly ineffective for us. We have used it with moderate success inside a strap-on harness but the rounded clitoral attachment is too long the vibrations to be centered on my clit and the rounded shape makes it rather inclined to slip to one side of the clitoris. While I was able to achieve orgasm while wearing this toy under my harness during strap on sex, I was unable to do so when using the toy solo. I attribute this to the added stimulation of the base of the dildo bumping the vibrator and the heightened arousal inherent in partner sex versus masturbation. While this toy has some great features, it falls short of the mark in design and power. My partner had roughly the same experience with the toy. Although it fit her clitoral/vaginal spacing a little bit better, it didn't provide stimulation on the underside of her clitoris which is where she is most sensitive and since her clitoris is a little larger than mine, it had an even harder time staying on her clitoris, being inclined, as I mentioned above, to slip to the side, so this is definitely not a good bet for users with larger clitorises, unfortunately.
Follow-up commentary
I'm sad to report that we still just don't use this toy. It's just not that exciting. It's not awful, just not good enough for us to reach for it. The cost of this toy for it to sit in the bottom of my toy box just kills me but I just have no motivation to use it. I also think the complicated controls are a bit of a deterrent. It's just too much work, especially for such a lackluster performance. I still think a handful of minor alterations could make this toy a total win but as it stands, I just don't have a use for it.
