Yours-and-Mine Not For Me

Overall, K-Y Yours and Mine are long-lasting lubricants with pleasant, tingling sensations, though I didn't find anything to really rave about. For their price-point, however, I expected much more. At the very least, I didn't expect to lose half my product to faulty packaging.

Use

K-Y Yours and Mine are two separate lubricants that are designed to compliment each other. Though I found they do stand well on their own as well, they do work best together. When mixed, it's a sensation quite unlike any other--a mix of tingling and warming, with added sensitivity. I think my partner also felt some (small) prolonging effects. Though they can, of course, be creatively combined for use with solo play, they've been designed for use with a partner in mind. I had success using these on a variety of erogenous zones, both external and internal, including for anal play.

The "Yours" gives a cooling sensation, while the "Mine" is warming (and highly stimulating). The "Yours" is intended for the penetrative partner (or, as the packaging states, "him"), while the "Mine" is intended for the penetrated partner ("her").

Because they are water-based, they can be used safely with silicone toys, though I found it to leave an unpleasant greasy residue that would take a very thorough washing (or two) to get off.

This product contains some allergens (particularly perfumes) and glycerin, so if you're particularly sensitive or want an all-natural lubricant, this is not for you.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lubricant is pretty thin, but this posed no problems performance-wise. It did, however, make application pretty messy. I had issues with it running quickly out of the bottle, so care should be taken to avoid this. During play, it had a very enjoyable silky feeling, but at the end of my sessions I found it to tend toward greasiness.

Taste / Aroma

There were no unusual smells or anything remarkable to report on that front. "Yours" was pretty neutral; "Mine" smelled faintly like menthol--I suppose that's to be expected given that it has menthol in it. I found "Mine" to be pleasant. If you're not a fan of the smell of menthol, I still wouldn't call it a deal-breaker--the scent is so light, it's hardly noticeable.

Because of their warming and cooling qualities, I'll admit I didn't really want to give them a taste-test. I wouldn't recommend ingesting them.

Performance

Under normal circumstances, I found I didn't really need to reapply this product unless my sessions were substantially long or anal play was involved. Both the lubrication and sensations were long-lasting and thoroughly enjoyable. After play, however, I found myself feeling uncomfortably greasy. It didn't really diminish my experience with this product, but I did have to clean-up afterward.

The sensations--especially the increased sensitivity--were pleasant, but I don't think they were a game-changer, by any means. It was more of a "this is nice," instead of anything that would give me a mind-blowing orgasm. Considering their price-point, I thought they fell flat.

Packaging

The two lubes are packaged in an attractive, black container. The lubes are packaged in blue and purple, plastic "test tubes." The lids are opened simply by pressing down on the side opposite of the opening, making for easy dispensing in the heat of the moment. They're held together by a separate piece of plastic but can be easily slipped in and out of that piece as needed.

One major complaint about the containers themselves is they are very, very leaky. This is made worse by the fact that they don't stand upright on their own. Be prepared to keep all the packaging to keep them safely housed; I didn't and ended up losing half of my product to leakage.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Leaky container

Personal comments

One last note: as someone in a gay relationship, I am a bit bothered by the fact that the lubricants are explicitly packaged and marketed to straight couples. I guess it's not a deal-breaker, but I wish K-Y would keep in mind that sometimes "him & him" or "hers & hers" are using their products too!
