Sweet snow - edible powder discontinued by Shunga Erotic Art - review by Kat Shanahan

I've never had much luck with erotic items claiming to be "edible". I don't know what it is (maybe it's my tastebuds) but no sexual aids that tout themselves as being designed to eat have ever done anything for me. So when I read the description of Shunga's Sweet Snow edible body powder, I was more than a little skeptical. But hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

The first thing I noticed about the powder was that it certainly *smelled* like it was good enough to eat (I have the Raspberry flavour/scent.) It smelled absolutely amazing! Good way to start, right?

The powder itself comes in a lovely little storage tin, contained for shipping in a small imitation silk bag. It also comes with a cute little "feather" applicator which really does a nice job of applying a fine dusting of the powder, and as a bonus, can also be used as a "tickler" during foreplay...ooh la la! (Note of caution, though: the feather applicator is really delicate, so be careful with it.)

In terms of storage, you can keep the powder in the bag if you so choose, but I dumped it out into the decorative tin. It's a lot easier to manipulate the duster in the can, rather than trying to get it into the bag (and a lot less messy!) The can is pretty easy to travel with, as well, which makes this an extremely portable addition to your sexytime collection!

I had a suspicion that once the powder was actually on me, the scent would fade. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong; once the powder is on your skin, it gives off a light, but absolutely delicious scent. To be honest, I found myself sitting there trying to fight off the urge to lick my own skin! The consistency was surprising, too. I was imagining it to be more the consistency of baby powder; you know how "thick" baby powder can feel sometimes? The Sweet Snow is totally different; it's light and silky and feels absolutely amazing on your skin. It doesn't leave much of a residue, as long as you don't overdo it with the application. And with the included "feather" applicator, it's easy to get "just enough" without making a huge mess (something that is always an issue with powder, at least with me!

Although this body powder is (obviously) marketed for erotic purposes, it has some fantastic everyday purposes as well. I found it an amazing alternative to antiperspirant; it does a fantastic job of keeping skin fresh and dry. And because of the versatility of this product, it's easy to "hide" among all your other beauty products, which can be important if you have nosy family members/housemates.

The powder's ingredient list includes aspartame, so be careful if you have sensitivities to that particular artificial sweetener. It also contains cornstarch, which has been linked to increased incidences of yeast infections, so please take note if you plan to use it near your vulva!

This product is great for playful foreplay with any lover, and there's no need to feel limited to just using it on yourself! Dust your partner with it as well, for a sexy mutual "dessert". A perfect ending to any romantic evening.

I'd recommend this product to anyone who, like me, has had less-than-stellar experiences with edible products in the past. You won't be disappointed!

I'm still a huge fan of this powder; it's light, fresh and so long-lasting! Plus, it smells (and tastes!) really amazing. It's a toy that serves a practical purpose as well!
