I was first introduced to these lovely candles while I was at BlogHer '10. I was surrounded by sex toys (for demo purposes only, you naughty-minded readers) of all sizes, types, materials and price ranges, yet it was the Afterglow candles I was drawn to. I got to experience both the Dark Vanilla and Pink Lotus scents, and I couldn't get enough of either. Dark Vanilla came home with me, and it wasn't long before I picked up a Pink Lotus to add to my collection. Now I feel it's like a Pokemon thing -- gotta catch 'em all!

Jimmyjane packages their Afterglow candles in elegant, simplistic packaging: a white box with a pink lid and pink and gray accents, a spiffy little usage manual that has tips for massages, and even a small pack of matches and a brush to apply melted wax with.



The scents, as I already mentioned, are amazing. They're smooth and sensual and intoxicating without being too intense or overwhelming. I don't know about anyone else who owns these candles, but I've been using them both in and out of the bedroom. During the week, when my children are at school, I'm known to kick back and relax in our living room with the television remote, my cell phone, a good book or magazine, my laptop, and a candle or two. Lately, my Jimmyjane Afterglow candles have been gracing our coffee table.

The wax itself melts super-fast, and it doesn't get quite as hot as regular wax does, but you'll still want to take care when applying it to your skin -- always do a quick test with your fingertip before applying a brush-stroke's worth! The wax is incredibly smooth, spreads easily, and seems to do a great job of softening skin and moisturizing it. As another contributor mentioned, the wax from Jimmyjane Afterglow candles can also be used as a general purpose skin moisturizer.
