Buff me right on up!

Exfoliating is good for you! Why? Well, it helps to remove that outer layer of old skin cells and reveals the fresh and much softer skin beneath it. It causes you to have a lovely glow to your skin and can help prevent those unfriendly ingrown hairs. You're smoother, softer, more radiant, and lovely afterwards. You know, all those things they say in commercials. That's what this stuff does.

You shouldn't exfoliate every day. It's best done 2-3 times a week at most because it can be a little rough on you if done to often. Also, if you're going to shave make sure you use this stuff the day before or the day after because shaving kinda does this for you already. If done after you shave it will help to save you from that lame aftershave bumpiness and irritation that comes from ingrown hairs or blocked follicles.

This is where I was super impressed with this stuff. When you dig it out of the jar is does this magic stuff where it becomes this kinda solid and smooth mushy ball of lovely. My other crap is usually grainy and gross, but not this stuff. Not gonna lie, I sat there and played with it a second. Think soft Play-dough or something like that. So strange, yet so awesome!

Also, unlike the other crap out there that feels like it's tearing your skin off, this stuff is actually quite gentle and smooth and totally gets the job done. Not grainy, and it doesn't feel like you're rubbing rocks all over yourself. It's not as concentrated as some other sugar scrubs can be, but I appreciate that. Again, I like my skin still attached to my body, you know? I just want that flaky stuff gone.

And then, more magic! When you're doing your exfoliating thing the sugar actually starts to dissolve and you're left with a super smooth lotion-like effect! Again, I like this because I hate having to spend forever making sure I get all of that junky stuff off and having to rinse constantly. What's left behind here is nothing but smooth softness. It feels like your skin has been smoothed with a very light, sheer oil that's not heavy or thick.

Once you get out of the bath or shower, that slight body oil feeling still lingers. Because you're skin is wet it feels slightly greasy, but just think of it as something like a light baby oil. This doesn't last very long and usually ends when you dry yourself off. After you're all toweled off you're left with nothing but amazingly soft and smooth skin with nothing left behind but wonderful moisture and silkiness.

The scent is crisp, light, and clean. It's not something that's overly sweet or feminine. It does smell like pomegranate with the uplifting scent of ginger root. Sadly, it's an artificial fragrance, though. It's pretty gender neutral, as well. The scent is mildly apparent during use, but not overpowering in the least. After rinsing only a trace of the scent is left behind and slowly fades away. It's not something that should interfere with other fragrances in perfumes or lotions.

Even though this is a sugar scrub, I certainly did not feel the desire to eat it even though it smelled tasty.

I first tried this stuff on my face because I was tired of putting my makeup on only to realize that it looked like my paint was chipping. Stupid dry air! Most sugar scrubs are usually just designed for the body because the graininess of them is often too much for the sensitive facial skin. My face is pretty sensitive, too. This was the ultimate test of the power of this stuff. While using it my face did get a little red, but not in an irritated way and it went back to normal shortly after I was done scrubbing. Wow, guys. I wish you could feel my face right now. I can't remember the last time it's ever been this smooth! Maybe it has been after I scrubbed half my skin off with my raspberry seed scrub and caked on tons of moisturizer. Not this time. It makes me want to bathe in the stuff.

Oh, wait. I did! Like my face, the rest of my skin had fallen victim to the super dry air. My legs were super bad, too. After scrubbing the rest of me down with this everything had the same amazing glow that my face did. I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world! Softest, too! After most showers I feel the need to douse myself in lotion because of how bad my skin gets. When I hopped out of the shower I felt like I already had! The lazy girl in me likes skipping that step! Both my face and the rest of my body remained quite lovely for a few days.

The only bad part is that in my exfoliation craze I did use a good portion of the scrub and made a moderately sized dent in it. If you're like me and you get a little too enthusiastic about softness, the jar might not last you forever, but I know I'll totally be buying more of this, and probably the rest of the line since I like this so much.
