Chemical-flavored chocolate anyone?

If you're looking for some smeary good times with something sweet and sticky you've come to the right place! The Lover's Body Paint by Kama Sutra is perfect for couples who like to sensually tease one another and include "food" in their play. Just be sure you have a warm, wet washcloth and some soap nearby to make certain you get all this off before getting to full on intercourse, you wouldn't want to cause a yeast infection.

Use

The Lover's Body Paint by Kama Sutra is best used to enhance your intimate moments with your partner by spreading it on or attempting to make cute designs and then sensually licking it off. It is meant to turn you on and get your juices flowing just like any other good old foreplay "tool".

Ingredients: Corn Syrup, Palm Kernel Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Non-Fat dried Milk, Soya Lecithin, Vanillin, Ethyl Alcohol, Water, Cocoa Powder, Food Starch, Gelatin, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate.

Please be sure to read the ingredients list before ingesting this product to be sure you do not have any allergies to them.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The consistency of the Lover's Body Paint is very thick, almost more like frosting than chocolate sauce when at room temperature. It is a little hard to get out of the jar using the flimsy brush that was included but warming the jar up for thirty seconds in the microwave helps make it more like a sauce consistency. Just be sure to mix it around (it will separate) and let it cool before applying so you don't accidentally burn someone, yourself included.

This edible treat is definitely sticky but it is not really greasy. It does, however, leave behind some chocolately residue that has to be washed off with soap and water.

Taste / Aroma

The Lover's Body Paint tastes like chemically made fake chocolate, aftertaste and all but that is possibly due to the ethyl alcohol contained within. Sadly this is overly sweet and is in no way pleasing to the palate.

This body "paste" even smells like chocolate injected with chemicals which is not entirely terrible but it is nothing like the aroma of real chocolate.

Overall the taste and aroma of this edible spreadable is just a huge let down.

Performance

The 4" brush that came with this body "paste" is quite lacking. The 1" long bristles are not soft and there are too many of them, which makes it hard to create any small designs but it can smear like the dickens. Using the brush with the body paint (not warmed up) makes for a lumpy, sticky smeared mess wherever you put it.

Once you warm this up in the microwave, mix it and let it cool it becomes a workable consistency. That is, of course, if you use a different brush, something with fewer and softer bristles perhaps. It is then possible to make cute designs like hearts or to write out words.

More power to you if actually enjoy licking this off but if you cannot stand the taste you can just wash it off with soap and water.

Packaging

The 2 fluid ounce glass jar with black plastic screw-on lid came in a stylish brown box with cutouts for the container and the brush so you can see them. The front has the Kama Sutra logo along with a brief description of what is contained inside. The back shows a photo of a couple using the body paint on the guy's shoulder and says "Encounters with Lover's Body Paint may begin playfully, but always end passionately."

Inside the box the brush was enclosed in a little cellophane bag and the jar had a foil safety seal underneath the lid. There were no instructions included with the set but it's pretty self explanatory and easy to use. The packaging is mostly discreet considering this is just a body paint and it would be okay for traveling as long as you pack it away properly.

    • Does not leak
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

This is edible and hypoallergenic.

Personal comments

I picked this up on a Facebook Friends deal hoping it would be something fun to try out with the hubby but I ended up testing it myself and it will probably just sit around until I empty out the jar and recycle it since it ended up tasting terrible.

Experience

Trying to use this "paint" at room temperature was a chore and a half. It was thick and not very workable so it just left a gloopy mess on my skin. I tried spreading it a little to see if maybe the warmth of my skin would help it out but it didn't really make a difference.

After warming this up in the microwave and letting it cool a bit, I stirred it around with a butter knife to mix it back up again since it separated. Once that was all finished I tried it out that way and found that it seemed to work better but I still couldn't really make any decent designs just blobs of the stuff smeared around.

This is the point where I ended up tasting the stuff, right off my own hand. I was surprised to find that it didn't taste much like chocolate at all and I have to say I was quite disappointed in that fact. I was hoping it would at least be palatable enough to play around with a little but sadly it will forever be unused and I will most likely end up dumping the stuff.
Follow-up commentary
This didn't last me past the reviewing stage. It was too thick and tasted terrible so I ended up dumping it out and rinsing the container to be recycled.
