Thalia, the Greek Goddess who brought us comedy is only slightly represented in Dr., Laura Berman's take on a comic yet sensual sex toy. The vibe is a bit whimsical and surprising in odd areas, but it just falls short of being comical. Either way, Thalia would be proud to use such a toy and therefor it should not be overlooked, even though it's name is not becoming of it's true character.

I was hoping for a type of forced orgasm toy. Although the Thalia is capable of producing a forced orgasm, it takes some time. The vibe can be used as an every day massager on the shoulders and back, a vibe for clit and labia stimulation, or even shallow penetration with two of the longer attachments. Although it comes with a cord, it is not powered by your super strong outlet. Instead, Thalia recharges herself with rechargeable batteries. Therefore, your power, although strong, isn't as strong as some of the other wands on the market. If you're a power queen you might want to look elsewhere. Because she's not jack hammer powerful I highly recommend her to beginners and those who enjoy strong but not concrete breaking vibration.

Thalia is constructed out of baby powder smooth, velvet coat plastic. Her nubby attachment is also made from the same material and therefor has no give. Perfect for those who like it rough. The other two attachments are constructed out of TPR and are soft and squishy. Both attachments attract lint a tiny bit but not as much as my other toys. Thalia is waterproof and should be washed before and after each use with warm soap and water or a toy cleaner. Her plastic parts can even be wiped down with rubbing alcohol. Use only silicone or water lubes with Thalia, she does not like oil.

Thalia smells very pleasing, as a Greek Goddess should and has no taste what so ever. She is however extremely loud and I could easily compare her to my blender. Being that I have thin walls, I had to wonder if I could be heard. Needless to say, this might not be the best option for someone living in a dorm or with roommates. If you want privacy, Thalia won't let you have it. She insists on stealing the stage with her overwhelming vibe presence.

Thalia is 7 inches long. Her attachments vary in size. The nubby flat one is 5 inches in circumference and an inch tall. 19 little nubs provide hard, intense, pleasure. The soft,beehive attachment is 2 1/2 inches long and ranges from 4 to 6 inches in circumference. It provides soft, bumpy stimulation to the clit, but is not very pinpointed. Insertion feels very intense with this one. The ribbed attachment will provide the most pinpointed stimulation to the clit, which surprised me. The beehive looks like it should be the one to do the job. The ribbed is about the same length but 5 inches in circumference and tapered. It provides good stimulation when inserted but not as much as the beehive.

Thalia has seven, strong functions. The first is of course strong, steady vibration. The second is fast pulsation. The third takes it up a notch and pulses faster before going into steady vibes and then revving you with intense steady vibes. The fourth is pulsation with extremely intense, sporadic pulsation following. The fifth is steady vibes that get extremely weak and then rev up again. The sixth is long and short erratic pulsations. Finally the seventh setting is steady vibrations which meld into short bursts of pulsation. The only problem with the strong vibes are they carry throughout the entire toy so my hand becomes numb.

The toy comes in the weakest package I have ever seen. It was torn and half open by the time it reached me. Even so, the toy was in good shape. Dr. Laura Berman is pictured on the front of the clear plastic box where you can see the toy clearly. The back gives a description of the toy and oddly, a bio of Dr. Berman. Because the box is so cheap, I would not recommend wrapping it to use as a gift or for storage.

Finally, it is a little tricky to screw on the attachments and is a hamper during the heat of the moment. Even so, the toy is wonderful and full of powerful vibes. I was off in minutes with a rocking orgasm from strong, intense vibes. Personally, I enjoyed the pulsation patterns which eased up and then hit me with a pop of intensity. It really made my clit sing.
