Oh where oh where did my bubbles go

All in all, I probably wouldn’t pick up this product again. The bubbles were very light and I found I had to use a lot more at a time than I’d like for a nice bubble effect, however it worked better as a shower gel.

Use

I was eager to try this product because I’m always excited about new bath products but the Dona Bath Foam didn’t quite live up to my expectations and I’ll get to that in a bit. You can use this as a bubble bath or as a shower gel and it is supposed to have aphrodisiac effects but that is subjective of course.

It contains some ingredients which can be irritating to people with sensitive skin. It doesn’t have parabens, but it contains glycerine, fragrance, and various preservatives.

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propanediol, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Lycium Barbarum (Goji), Coffea Arabica (Coffee Seed), Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí), Morinda Citrifolia (Noni), Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea), Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen), Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The bath foam is very thick, even thicker than hair gel. Since it is really thick it pours out slowly and it is easy to get the amount you want although squeezing the bottle may sometimes be necessary. It washes away cleanly without leaving any residue.

Taste / Aroma

The pomegranate scent is lovely but it doesn’t smell like pomegranate at all. It smells like watermelon candy. Reminds me of when I was a kid sucking on those candy rings. The scent doesn’t linger but there are other Dona products such as the lotion and body butter which are great for using after a bath or shower. I don’t want to taste this but I imagine it’s very soapy.

Performance

The performance was a lot poorer than what I was expecting. I have bath salts that foam better than this. However, this wasn’t designed to give you giant bubbles to begin with. This also doesn’t moisturize the skin very well either. I could be biased since I’ve recently tried bath balms that moisturize my skin unlike anything I’ve tried before.

I love using this as a shower gel, but I hesitate to say it’s better than others I have. A tiny blueberry sized drop is enough to give the body a good lather and that’s all you’ll need for that purpose. However, as a bubble bath a strawberry sized glob was enough to give me foaming that lasted for about 25 minutes. Since this isn’t a very large bottle, I don’t like using such a big amount but if I use a grape sized amount, the bubbles are barely noticeable, lasting about 10 minutes. The bubbles tended to pile at the front and back ends of the tub leaving the middle completely bare. I thought this was kind of strange. The effect was the opposite of relaxing. I hate to say this was a letdown but it wouldn’t be my first choice again.

Packaging

The Dona Bath Foam comes in a 9.5 ounce bottle with no extra packaging. Eden places it inside a plastic bag in case it leaks during shipping but I didn’t have a problem with that. There is a thin piece of tape placed over the cap to prevent it from opening, and it is also sealed under the lid so you know it hasn’t been used. The label is not at all explicit and contains all the information about the product.

Thanks for the honest review! I noticed that the herbal bath soak didn't really smell like pomegranate, but more like a cucumber-melon sort of scent. It is a lovely smell, though!
