LELO's ONO massage oil is an external use only product, meant to be used as a massage aid or body moisturizer after showering or bathing. The product is not an edible massage oil and also should not be used as a personal lubricant. The product is made with natural oils that are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and non-greasy. However, users who are allergic to apricot, grape seed, or jojoba oils should steer clear of this massage oil.

ONO massage oil is smooth, slick and water-like in consistency, similar to other very thin massage oils. Because of its thinness, it will run down skin easily if not rubbed in. The product pours very easily from the container, so one should take care not to dispense more than is desired or needed. The massage oil is not sticky and doesn't contain any grains, salts, granules or texture of any kind. Since this is an oil, it will feel a bit oily until the product is rubbed into skin or absorbed: again, similar to other massage oil products.

The ONO massage oil is available in three scents: Lemon Grass, Red Mandarin and French Vanilla. In the bottle, in the hand, and when first applied to skin, the Lemon Grass scent is slightly strong but not overwhelming. The Lemon Grass scent also appears to be quite true to how lemon grass actually smells, which is a citrus, lemony "green" scent. The scent does linger on skin after applied, though the strength of the scent will depend on how much product is used. The scent will also lightly stick around for several hours before fading, but it's only noticeable by actually sniffing the skin directly, or by catching a whiff of it as you move around or rub the skin.

This is an external use only product and not meant to be tasted or ingested.

To use as a body moisturizer after bathing or showering, simply dispense a drop or two of the ONO massage oil into your palm for each body part and rub into skin. For use during a massage, dispense as much of the product as desired for each body part and rub away (a quarter sized amount, or a bit more, should be sufficient for larger areas such as backs).

Using only a couple drops will allow the oil to absorb quickly into the skin, within a minute or two. A larger amount will require a few additional minutes for absorption, which allows you to give your loved one a nice rubdown, before applying more product if desired or needed. After absorbing, the oil leaves skin soft, smooth and lightly scented. If desired, any unabsorbed product can be wiped off with a towel or showered off. However, unless you use a deep cleaning or harsh soap/body care product, skin will still feel slightly moisturized and smooth from the oils already absorbed into the skin.

Because oils have a tendency to stain fabrics, take care when using the product to prevent possible oil marks left on clothing or linens.

ONO massage oil comes in a small, black box which lists the name of the product and chosen scent. One side of the box shows a picture of the massage oil tube; the other gives a brief paragraph about the benefits of the product in English, French and German. The back gives directions and warnings in English, French and German again, along with the ingredient list.

The side of the box states: "ONO massage oils are made with natural oils that are non-greasy, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin E, the oils are specially formulated to nourish and moisturize your skin while relaxing your muscles."

The back states: "HOW TO USE: Massage the smooth oil gently into your skin. Store in a cool, dry place. WARNING: For External Use Only. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes. If any discomfort or irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your health care provider. Not for use as a Personal Lubricant. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Ingredients listed on the box are: Prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, vitis vinifera (grape seed) oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, perfume (citrol, d-limonene). If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, please do not use the product.

The massage oil itself comes in a black plastic tube that holds 2.5 fluid ounces of product. The label lists the product name and chosen scent. The back of the Lemon Grass scent states: "Energizing and revitalizing, ONO's lemongrass is a bright and uplifting citrus scent that will have you playing with your partner in no time. Below this is a brief description of the product, along with the ingredient list and website address for ONO Pleasure.

The bottle sits upright on its flip-top opening lid on the bottom. The lid can also be completely screwed off. A silver safety seal covers the inner opening of the product under the lid; this will need to be removed before use.

I was happy to receive a bottle of the ONO massage oil as one of my first DR assignments. Not only is this the first actual massage oil I've ever used, but it is also my first LELO product.

I found the oil very easy to use; it smoothed nicely across my skin and, once absorbed, it left me feeling soft and smooth. I also found the Lemon Grass scented oil quite true to how lemon grass actually smells like (a lemony "green" or grassy scent).

My only complaint about the product is its bottle. The oil itself is very easily poured from the bottle but, because the bottle has a flip-top lid on the bottom, one must make sure it is only opened while upside down or the product will spill everywhere. The flip-top itself makes for messy dispensing; the lid is 1 1/2 inches across, with the hole in the middle, and it is hard to only dispense a drop or two at a time without accidentally pouring out more or having the oil drip across the lid and down the side of the bottle. A pump top or push in lid would have made for easier, less messy dispensing. Thus I've detracted one star because of the bottle's design.
