Venus aromatic mist - mist discontinued by Venus - review by Hot 'N Sexy TexasMama

...I could've sworn I smelled peaches. I looked and looked all over because I didn't know that fresh peaches were in season. This wasn't "peaches and cream" like some candles I've had. This was the smell of a peach that was freshly plucked off the tree.

Let me tell you - I looked and I looked. I mean - that one whiff was enough to make me crave peaches and there was no resting until I found one.

Then I saw it...it was the Venus Peach Aromatic Mist. There were no peaches...there was simply the fragrant scent of what could've been a great peach - if it had been real.

The Venus Peach Aromatic Mist is a very light peach fragrance. In case you missed that, let me restate it again, the Venus Peach Aromatic Mist is a VERY LIGHT peach fragrance. I want to make sure that you understand just how light it is.

The ingredients in this fragrance are: Aqua, Propylene glycol, alcohol, fragrance, DMDM hyndantoin, may contain FD&C yellow #6, FD&C red #33, FD&C Blue #1.

This fragrance is literally a mist that feels like water as you spray it on your body. There is no oily texture or feel to it. The fragrance comes out as a very fine mist and it takes several pumps to really do an effective job of giving you enough scent.

It absorbs into your skin very easily although sometimes I spray enough that I will rub it in a little bit to cover a larger area.

I've smelled many "peach scented" fragrances. None of them have smelled as realistic as a fresh-picked off the tree peach as this fragrance. There is no chemical "after smell" that I have experienced with other brands. There is no additional scent as in "peaches and cream". It simply smells like walking by a ripe peach that was just plucked by the tree.

With that said, the scent is not nearly strong enough nor does it last long enough as I believe it should. My husband, who loves peaches, agrees with me.

I would like to point out that you could also spritz this in the air if you want to freshen a room, but once again, it will probably take 5 or more pumps to feel like the room has been freshened.

Needless to say, I love most things about this product. I love the scent and how fresh it smells when you spray it. I love the packaging and how easy it is to just spritz this all over. I even like the label because it seems to fit well with the soft spray inside the bottle and with the rest of the Venus line of products.

What I don't like is that the scent just DOES NOT LAST. You can spray it on your body and five minutes later, you can not smell it. I suspect that one reason for this is that the product has no oil in it to hold the scent in longer. I say this because Not Soap Radio's "Island Hopping" is in the same general "soft fragrance" family but it last much longer because it is an oil perfume. The difference is that Island Hopping is a lemon fragrance and not peach (and I love both scents).

This product only gets four stars because the fragrance does not last. However, there is a solution which I share below.

This spray mist is packaged in a 4 ounce clear plastic pump bottle. Here is a picture of it beside a 20 ounce water bottle.

You may be wondering why I am giving this product FOUR stars when the fragrance doesn't last. Isn't that the whole point of a fragrance - to apply it and have it stay?

Well, yes, it is. However, if you use this product with the other peach scented products in the Venus line, specifically the peach body butter, I think you will find that the scent will last longer since it has the peach base to work with. In fact, that is what I found out when I used both together. The scent seemed "fresher" than when I use the body butter alone and it lasted longer than when I used the peach mist alone.

So if you buy this and want to smell like a peach, budget enough to buy the body butter too. I can heartily recommend that butter since even I, the budget minded shopper would pay full price for it.
