Ah, bliss. Another orgasm, another day of exploration and sexual fulfillment. Just like a good meal that puts a smile on your face and fills you with a certain sense of joy and comfort. But, much like the plates, silverware, cups and glasses after we take that last bite or final sip our sex toys too need a cleaning before their next use.


So, what to choose? Certainly there are plenty of options when it comes to toy cleaning. Some of us may use a gentle soap and warm water. Perhaps some toy wipes or an anti-bacterial spray. If you're pretty hardcore you could do a combination followed by a cleansing and purification ritual for good measure. But, for the moment we're just going to cover one of many anti-bacterial toy cleaning sprays.



Doc Johnson, those delightful creators of a variety of sex toys, has a spray to offer that trumps many others in price and reliability.


This particular toy cleaner comes in a four ounce bottle that will last you many, many cleanings. The bottle itself is pretty subtle and doesn't make any obvious mention of sex toys or sex acts, but the knowing adult will pick up on what it is without question. The top sprays a fairly fine mist that doesn't get gunked up or release a ridiculous amount of liquid with each spray, so the longevity of the product is increased due to the functional mister. I have used a few other brands/sprays that could use with a higher quality spray top, so this is a welcome bonus to a simple package.


Speaking of other sprays, some tend to have a stronger odor than this toy cleaner. This cleaner is much gentler to the nose and does not leave behind a strong perfume or baby powder like scent. My husband has a particularly keen sniffer and has found this product to be on the money when it comes to the strength of its scent.


The financial aspect of the Doc Johnson toy cleaner is a major plus as well. I have been an avid user of this particular brand for a few years, not only because of its quality but its price. By and far this is the best toy cleaner for your dollar.


The product itself is quite gentle. The active ingredient is Triclosan.

Inactive ingredients are Deionized Water, Sodium C 14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate/Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Triclosan, Citric Acid, Methychloroisothiazolinone/Methyllisothiazolinone and Tetrasodium EDTA.

My husband has fairly sensitive skin and has had no reaction to this product, which is a major plus. I tend to be sensitive to harsher chemicals and haven't had a reaction either, so we are both extremely pleased!


The spray has been kind not only to us, but our toys as well. After many uses I have not noticed any discoloration or deterioration of any of my toys from this cleaner. It has been used on nearly every material imaginable and has never had an adverse affect.


Using the spray is easy. Just mist your toy lightly and wipe (or allow to air dry). If you have a very detailed toy use a cloth or quality paper towel to work into the grooves and textures. A little of the mist can spread a long way, so no need to oversaturate your toys.

After purchasing this toy cleaner a few years ago based on its price point, I was thrilled by the results. After years of consistent use I am proud to say that it has been a great asset to my toy collection and will continue to serve me and my lovely toys as long as it is produced.

This is definitely my "go to" cleaner.
A great value in every way and it really does last a long time even with daily use.
