Organic lip balm by Evolution of Smooth - review by ScarletFox

Sweet Smooth Sorbet Lips

A great natural option for those that are looking for a lip balm but with out all the chemicals in it, only people who need to be careful are vegans and those with allergy concerns. It is light weight and long lasting through out the day.

The Organic Lip Balm by Evolution of Smooth is an mostly organic, natural lip balm that is lightly flavored and used to moisturize your lips. It is gluten, paraben and preservative free. Though the Lemon flavor of this particular line I have read has sun block in it, so if you want to avoid that its easy to just pick another flavor.

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract*, Linalool.

The balm is very lightweight but still has a rich moist feeling on the lips when applied. Application is very easy and it lasts for quite some time afterwards, from my count I could feel it for a few hours even after I had licked my lips, eaten, or even kissing. It does not leave a heavy or waxy feeling on your lips, and reminds me of a consistancy much like Burts Bees for those who have used that brand before.

Taste / Aroma

Having only tried the Strawberry Sorbet flavor, it tastes much like a creamy strawberry milkshake. It is very sweet, but not to the point that it is overly so. The scent is very much like a bowl of strawberrys and cream when I put it up to my nose, so very pleasant and not at all over powering.

The taste itself was very light and left no strange aftertaste in my mouth.

Because this is a very natural and rich lip balm, I really didn't find myself having to reapply it as often as I do with others. The moisturizing effect that the balm has keep my lips very smooth and soft for hours at a a time. Because it uses natural ingredients they are able to absorb into the skin far more nicely then other less natural ingredients might. The only real downside is that if you are allergic to any natural things you do want to check what it contains before use.

The balm it self comes in the shape of a ball but after a time it will conform to the shape of your lip depending on what side of it you use more. So you might need to be a little creative about how to even that out. For me I don't use one side too much more then the other or when I start seeing too much of a dent on one side I use the other side or the top.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

The packaging was very minimal, just the balm itself that comes in an egg shaped container that twists open. It was wrapped in a small bit of plastic that contained information on the ingredients and such as well.

The only downside about this packaging, its round and bulgy in your pocket. So this balm works much better in your purse or over night bag.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Minimal
