Big Names Nothing but Jelly Backbone
K-Y just doesn't stand up to all the hype, the sticky thick jelly has nothing that makes it spectacular. Although it's cheap and easy to find, it doesn't have any strong pros as to why you should buy this. It comes out thick and sticky, two things I don't want any where near my genitals.

Pros
Can get anywhere, No scent
Cons
Sticky, Dries quickly, Thick
I first bought K-Y jelly to see what all of the hype was about. Now that I'm more experienced, I see the fatal flaw. Just because it's a big brand doesn't mean it is going to be worth anything. In many ways this product falls flat.
When you first buy the K-Y Jelly Lubricant, it comes in a basic white tube, much like most lotion brands come in today. It is a water based lube, making it compatible to use with a multitude of toys. It is made from a multitude of things.
List of ingredients:
Purified water (obvious in a water based lube)
Glycerin ( Typical ingredient in most soaps and lotions)
Hydroxyethylcellulose ( A thickening agent in cosmetics)
Chlorhexidine Gluconate (Usually found in mouth wash to fight gingivitis)
Gluconolactone ( A natural Preservative)
Methylparaben ( A preservative)
Sodium Hydroxide (lye and caustic soda)
My first impression of the K-Y jelly when in use was how thick it was. It comes out as a clear, almost gooey product. When in use, it was noticeable how quickly it would dry up and need to be reapplied. When it dried, it also dried out the skin. After it had dried up, it would become extremely sticky wherever it had been applied to. This I found to be very annoying, since sticky is one of my least favorite feelings. The Jelly doesn't have any strong scent to it, so this is a bonus. It did also not cause any problems with irritation which can be a worry since I have sensitive skin.
K-Y has a lot of hype because it has become a big brand in the world of lubricants, but this is one of the ones I wouldn't recommend to anyone else. It is more of a thick jelly than an actual lube and doesn't even do its job very well.

The sticky, tacky lube that comes from this tube isn't worth the money at all. Even after trying it a few more times I still hate it. You have to constantly keep putting more on and it gets sticky super quickly. There hasn't been any positives to come from this tube. This was another flop to the bottom of my lube drawer.

Thanks for the review. This (or its generic versions) used to be the ONLY lube available in most stores, so I've used it a bunch over the years. I always liked the thickness, but have always been annoyed at how quickly it gets sticky. Fortunately, a little water or saliva reactivates it. But there are just SO MANY better lubes out there now, even some with the thickness, but without the stickiness.
