K-Y jelly is one of the most well known brands of water based personal lubricant around. It is also number one recommended by doctors because it is safe and gentle enough for everyday use. K-Y jelly is used by many people for sexual/intimacy lubricant and I myself use it for that purpose as well. Many people aren't a fan of this stuff, however, I am. I like the thick jelly texture and it makes insertion of toys or your lover's penis very easy and comfortable. This stuff is great for those when you don't have much time but still want to get in a "quickie" and don't have time for foreplay to get wet by your natural juices. Because of the thick consistency, this stuff stays where it's put. I don't find it bothersome at all but my fiance isn't a fan of it and every time we reach for this when having sex he always wants to jump in the shower or grabs a baby wipe because he feels "sticky". I describe the the feel as "goopey" and slick. I don't feel the need to clean up after sex with this as going to bathroom and simply wiping with some toilet paper is all I feel you need. For us, one application usually isn't enough for long sessions and despite my fiance insisting that "it's wet enough" I still feel the need to apply more; I like things wet and slippery! I use K-Y jelly for solo play as well and find it easy to insert my glass or silicone toys by applying a thin layer on the tip and a little way down the shaft of the toy. If you use this for toys you DO need to clean up afterward, and really it's safe and healthy to clean all your toys after each use whether you use a lube or not to prevent infections and irritation to your genitals. You should also clean around the opening of the tube or else you get a sticky rubbery residue around the opening or stuck to the flip cap. Other reviews have pointed out that if you need something safe for anal purposes that it will work for that.
Since we're all adults here and health is talked about I will go ahead and share my other "female" use for this product. During the start of menstruation I tend to feel dry down there and inserting tampons can be difficult and painful. One day I got the idea to apply it to the tip of the tampon applicator before insertion and it helps. So if you're like me and have trouble you won't have to waste any more tampons because they "don't feel right" due to trouble getting them in. I did find out that if you are prone to yeast infections that you shouldn't use this because it contains glycerin. K-Y does make a sensitive jelly and a liquid that does not contain glycerin that you should purchase if need be. It is not sold on EF at the moment but you can get it at any pharmacy/retail store.
K-Y is unscented and unflavored. It is a clear jelly so it won't stain clothes or bed sheets. It comes in a 4fl oz or 2fl oz squeezable tube. It is not discreet and its use is printed on the front. The ingredients are: Purified water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, and Sodium Hydroxide.
In my opinion, K-Y jelly is a cheap, safe, multi-purpose lubricant that is always handy to have around!

Farewell K-Y, it's been fun but I've found something else I prefer better AND it's glycerin free! It's thick, not not as thick as K-Y but it get's the job done just the same. It's a better product of the money and the amount compare to K-Y.
