Platinum silicone lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Wet Lubricants - review by Libra

Wet Platinum is a silicone based lubricant that my husband I bought spur of the moment while we were on vacation when we noticed that we forgot to pack some.
Typically I like to research everything that I buy to be sure that it is something I will like. But as it was, I didn't have much hope for something that I just grabbed off the Walmart shelf.
But we were both pleasantly surprised by the staying power and nice slick feel of this lubricant. We used it during vaginal sex and with manual stimulation to my clitoris.
Through the entire time, this only needed to be applied once, which was so nice!

This lubricant is pretty thin and it pours very easily out of its tube. It has a very smooth, slick consistency. It never got sticky or greasy on us though, even at the end. As with most silicone lubes that we have tried, it does take a little bit more effort to clean it up: it doesn't want to just wipe away. I guess that goes right along with its staying power though. Rubbing a drop between my fingers to test how long it lasts, I feel like I could just keep on rubbing forever. ^_^ I get bored with the test and wash it off way before the lubricant wears away.
Be careful that you get the lid snapped shut as this is one that will definitely run all over the place.

Hmm...I guess I didn't taste it. I could...I don't imagine that it would taste like anything. I think it would be like licking petroleum jelly....how bout this, if anyone really wants me to taste it I will and then report back. =)
However, I am very sensitive to scents. Wet Platinum definitely did not have any smell that put me off. It is very neutral. In fact I couldn't smell it at all unless I stuck my nose down the tube. And even then it really didn't smell like anything. This is so wonderful for me because strong smells make me nauseous very easily and that is obviously not something I would want to deal with.

This lubricant seems to last and last. This is definitely the best thing about it and the worst.
I loved the fact that we didn't need to reapply even once. The product performed so wonderfully in that department. It never got sticky and it never dried up.
But at the end washing it off is not so easy. Really it is best to jump in the shower to get it all off. But, if we are going back to bed then we just wash it off as best as we can with soap and water. This never seems to get it all and I end up climbing back into bed still feeling all slick. At least its not a greasy feeling, just slippery.
Those with silicone toys do need to be careful of using this lubricant with them though as it is silicone based and that can be harmful to them.

This comes in a black flip-top cylindrical bottle. There are the standard warnings and instructions and ingredients on the back of the bottle. I do not personally like the Wet logo, I don't think that it is at all discreet. I know I would be embarrassed if Mom and Dad saw it. =P
And, because of the flip-top bottle, I would be extrememly careful of traveling with it. I make sure I put it in its own ziplock bag in case it decides to open up in the duffel bag. What a mess it would make!
Also, because of the combination of the flip-top bottle and the thin consistency, I think that it is kind of messy to dispense. It has a tendency to want to run down over the top of the bottle and then down its side.

It does not cool, warm, or tingle. But, I prefer that because as to date I have not been impressed with the ones I have tried that do.
