Kissable Strawberry Creme

Overall, I adored this product. The smell is like floating on a strawberry cream-cloud, and the taste is divine. Perfect for a variety of activities, this excellent souffle is something you can find a use for both inside the bedroom and out, though if you're looking for 24 hour skin moisture this might not be the item for you. The petite size makes it perfect for gift-giving as well.

Use

Though the product is marketed as being for "sensual massage", the water-based formula allows for additional uses. It could be used as a moisturizer, hand cream, or for a little extra something during foreplay. Designed to be edible, Kama Sutra's body souffle is perfect for a wide variety of people and activities. I personally found it best used not for massage, but as a body moisturizer.

Be warned that this product contains alcohols, glycerins and saccharin (A full list of ingredients is listed on the side of the package and in the "packaging" section of this review). Those that are sensitive or trying to avoid those chemicals should look for another product.

Furthermore, this product is not recommended for oral sex. It is not designed to be used as a lubricant, and could cause irritation or infection if used around the vulva / vagina. I would also suggest to avoid getting it around your eyes.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Though a bit on the thin side, this massage cream holds up well. It does not run and as a result needs to be rubbed in for the desired affect. It comes out of the jar easily.

I found it had a slightly greasy texture when applied in excess, so be careful not to take too much at one time. I suspect this is because its primary purpose is to be used for massage, and the greasiness is by design. This feeling does go away once the product is absorbed.

On the plus side, it is not the least bit sticky and leaves no residue after being applied.

Taste / Aroma

When they said this was "Strawberry Creme", they meant it! There's nothing that makes me happy quite like having a body product that is not only true in smell, but also in taste to the name given. My initial impression was of strawberry-flavored milk, or a Starbuck's Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino. I found both the taste and smell to be pleasant.

It is neither over-powering nor faint. The first whiff you get of the product is very clearly strawberries. As time wears on the fruity notes fade to the background and the cream tones dominate. Given what the product is meant for, I found that the scent lasted a long amount of time. I noticed it about two hours after application, even though I had been working in a restaurant during that time. Any product that can stand up to that many competing fragrances is a keeper in my book.

The taste is pleasant as well. It doesn't have the burst of strawberry at the beginning like with the smell. In fact, I wouldn't recommend you taste it right away or straight out of the jar (it seems a bit bitter then). Once it has been rubbed into the skin, it has a light taste that closely matches the scent.

I cannot speak for the "Chocolate Creme Brulee" version of this product, but I imagine that it has similar qualities. (If I get a chance to try it out, I will update this review accordingly.)

Performance

As I said in the last section, the scent did hold up well. I'd say it would last you no more than three hours. The part of the product meant to soften the skin lasts a fair while longer, at least six hours. I have combination skin and I used another moisturizing product a few hours before the last one. In light of this fact and different skin types, I would say this could last you between four and ten hours.

It is advertised on the packaging as being able to be wiped away simply with water, a statement I found to be true. I even spilled some on my laptop keyboard, and it all came up without issue with just a simple paper towel. If the greasy feeling is a problem for you, or if you really over-apply , you can use some hand soap with warm water to remedy that. Once on the skin it comes off easily when licked, though the benefits linger.

When it comes to massage, a dollop will do you. When I massaged it into my leg, I found that it did not leave build-up. One of my favorite things about this product besides the fact it is true to the promised flavor is that it is absorbed easily. It is very hard to overdo on this product, unless you have naturally oily skin.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely

Packaging

I purchased the 1.8 oz. size in Strawberry Creme. The jar itself comes in a flimsy plastic box, which is clear. It is stamped with a red label on the top, giving the brand, variety and the amount in ml. and in ounces. The back of the plastic box also has the full ingredients list, which I will include here (mine was covered by a price sticker):

Ingredients: Water, ethylhexyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, dimethicone, cetearyl alcohol, flavor, polyacrylamide, c13-14 isoparrafin, laureth-7, peg-100 stearate, carbomer, sodium saccharin, sodium hydroxide, potassium sorbate, tetrasodium edta, phenoxyethanol, red 40 (CI 16035), red 33 (CI 17200) and benzyl alcohol.

It gives the description on the back again in several languages, and also a small jar icon bearing a "12M" on the inside. This means that the product is good for 12 months after opening. No instructions were included.

The container inside has a plain black lid with a hard plastic jar. I found the design rather handsome, and on the back it gives a slightly more detailed description. It also lists a phone number, a website, and the bottom is stamped with a very faint recycling triangle. The top is a screw-top jar, and the product is protected by a white cardboard/paper insert to ensure quality. This can be removed after opening, or you can keep it inside.

Overall, the size of the 1.8 ounce container is slightly less than the palm of your hand, perfect for travel and storage. Everything about it is discreet, and there is no reason why you couldn't keep it alongside any other bath products. You can keep it in your nightstand, purse or makeup bag without fear of leaking.

The dimensions are as follows:

Height: 1.1 inches / 2.7 centimeters
Circumference: 7.32 inches / 18.6 centimeters
Diameter: 2 inches / 5.08 centimeters

The only things I did not like about this product was the weak plastic box. Since it's meant to be disposable (or at least I assume so), it would be better to have the ingredients on the product itself. I nearly threw mine away without thinking about it.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Travel friendly

Personal comments

I am a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to bath products, particularly when it comes to how a product holds up. If it's a major brand of body care product, I've probably tried it. In terms of longevity, I found it comparable to something by Bath and Body Works, but with the bonus of being edible.
Follow-up commentary
I'm sad to say I'm nearly out of this body souffle, despite my best efforts to preserve it. In terms of moisturizing, I still go to other products, but the subtle, sweet taste of this stuff keeps me (and my partner) coming back for more.
